I'm working on creating a new kind of online learning experience. I've been converting the AILC History plugin to GPT and adding some new functionality.

The GPT has a few actions: it can draw historical maps of countries, kingdoms, empires; wars, battles; continents in a given year. It can generate timeline diagrams for persons and historical eras. It can provide global historical context for a given year.
Along with the visuals it feeds back facts from a curated historical database, so it helps with "grounding" ChatGPT.

DALLE and web browsing are turned on. Images generated as kind of textbook illustrations are surprisingly good.

Maps of military conflicts showing where battles took place and returning grounding data to ChatGPT with curated data about the battles.

Historical country and continent maps

Get a global historical perspective by looking globally at the historical eras, periods, notable people, conflicts and events at a given time.

I watched the Ridley Scott movie about Napoleon and then started to learn about him with the AI Learning Companion for History.
