#Unable to load chat history

I get this issue every few days and it lasts for days on end.

I'm unable to load chat history, my account doesn't appear in the bottom left and I can't create new chats.

In the network tab in browser dev tools I see 403 forbidden errors for almost all api calls.

I have tried all of the usual troubleshooting steps.

  • Different browser
  • clear cache
  • log out and in (can't log out because it doesn't login in the first place)
  • incognito
  • restart laptop

This only happens on this one laptop.

For example, 3 hours ago, it was working perfectly only on firefox and on chrome it was loading history but I could't chat.

I restarted the laptop and now I can't load history or chat on any browser.

Is chatGPT seriously this poorly coded? I've never known any other service or product this poorly coded!

What can I do?

There is a VPN, 2 actually for different things but connecting or not connecting to either or both doens't make a difference.

I'm not sure it is that. As I said, sometimes chatGPT works, sometimes it won't work for days. When I access chatgpt on this laptop while at my father's house for example, it works 100% of the time whether or not I've been using the VPNs but at my own home, it is so flaky

403s are client-side errors, so it's gotta be something in the network config on your home network, since you've tested the same laptop connecting just fine on another network. Another way you could try to test this is by connecting your laptop to a smartphone's hotspot network, and see if that also makes it work.

But since the same device works on a different network, I think you're right to assume it's probably not VPN-related, but issues can sometimes come from a confluence of multiple factors, but for now, could you check the DNS settings of your home WiFi network?

This would probably be on your router's config page, but it might vary depending on your ISP and hardware. If it's set to default, perhaps you could try setting it manually to Cloudflare's DNS or even Google's DNS, just as a test to see if that lets the traffic through more consistently. If it's not set to default, it might be worth changing it back to default/automatic.

I have this same issues every couple of weeks. And currently have it. Any recommendations you've done to solve it? It's pretty annoying

Hello! Does your GlobalVPN app have any feature called "Web Protection," "NetShield," "Threat Guard", or anything like that? Sometimes, this type of feature needs to be turned off as well, even if your VPN is already turned off.

Otherwise, I'm wondering: do you have an adblocker app running?
