#STILL no ChatGPT Voice

I've been a Plus subscriber since the very beginning, waiting patiently for Voice...but now even though the whole world has it, I STILL don't have it, so I'm changing my mindset from "I guess I need to be more patient" to "This is a bug."

I'll attach an image of my settings page as well. But I'm on Android 13 with One Ui 5.1 and I'm on app version ChatGPT for Android 1.2023.313

I've tried downloading the Beta version through playstore, the NOT Beta version, I've rebooted a thousand times.

I've got no VPN or other DNS shenangians going on.

No headphones icon.

Greetings! This certainly sounds like a bug.

So you've got the newest version of the app, no VPN installed, and no "DNS shenanigans" 😁 (I like that terminology), but can I ask for clarification on that last bit? Are you confirming you don't have any adblocker app installed? What is that ⚡ icon in your status bar? Just curious if that could at all be network-filtering related?

And simple question but, have you tried force closing the app, clearing the cache, and reopening it off of WiFi, on your cellular network?

I don't have an adblocker app installed, I have Tasker (the lightning bolt) as well but that's not doing anything at the moment. Going to try a force close/clear/open on 5G now.

You can see I also tried downloading the APK from NOT the Play Store as well to see if maybe that was a problem, but the downloaded APKs had the same issue as the Play Store APKs.

Force stopped, cleared cache, cleared data, and opened with Wifi OFF. It had me log in again, which I did. It gave me the welcome to ChatGPT again, and still the same results.

Let's try it! Just turned off Battery saver and now I'm gonna do the same force stop/clear cache steps.

It's a much smoother experience now that the screen runs as maximum framerate...but still no smoother as far as getting Voice goes.

I wish there was an Android "safe mode" boot a la Windows, could be helpful in trying to troubleshoot issues like this.

It is not rooted. But you're right, I don't have the image upload either.

I have those features on the Web UI, just not the app.

There is a safe mode, but Android's safe mode disables downloaded apps.

Hey! I had the voice mode feature yesterday but after reinstalling the app at night it disappeared

I got it yesterday like 4 hours after the announcement, but I heard the voice too low, soy I decided reinstalling the app but, when I installed it back, it was no longer there

I've been racking my brain since last night to get it back but it's impossible, it just doesn't appear

Keep in mind I've NEVER had Voice, so it may not work for me.

Ok i fixed it, there was an auto update but my phone did not give the app permission to use the microphone even though it was showing it was allowed to use, i removed permission to use microphone for the app then set it again to use, it now works! Yay!

Okay, then something on either your network or device is blocking some telemetry that lets these new features get activated in your app, because you should have both of these features available with your Plus sub. First, make sure your app is updated! Then, can you check the DNS settings on your device? It'll be located in Android settings, Network & Internet, Private DNS, maybe named slightly differently. Is it set to automatic, or something else?

What version of the app do you have? Also, in between trying things that you've changed, it might help to force close the app and clear its cache in App info between attempts, so that way the app can try relaunching with the settings you've tried changing.

I know you said you don't have a VPN or adblocker running, but do you happend to have one even installed, and just not running? Or anything that might be filtering your traffic? If not, it may be worth checking the DNS settings of your home network itself, or at least testing the troubleshooting steps in this whole thread on both your home network, and on a different network like a cellular network, if possible!
