A couple of my prompts are multiplying.
For example one of my prompts I asked for help with creating a name for a fictional character and that prompt was multipled with itself under the original prompt and so was the edited versions.
Tho I think it's just affecting the more recent ones.

Hello! Are you comfortable using the chat share feature to show what you're talking about when you say your prompts are multiplying? Or perhaps you could share a screenshot?

Only on very new ones and not any old ones that I've previously added on to. It also only affecting the ones from the past 7 days to my knowledge.

Do you have any custom instructions active? And is it every new chat, or just some?

And you're saying, if you go to a chat in your history from over a week ago, it doesn't happen in any of them?

No custom instructions, not every new chat and I've checked some out my older ones and none of them are affected.

As in, you're going to the Google app, googling ChatGPT, opening it there? Or are you using Chrome? Could you try installing the official app?

I can't really install the official app since my phone has been mucking up due to recently installed apps and I don't want to make it worse by installing another app

I see - in the screenshot you provided, you have an "x" in the top-left corner, which is what it looks like on my phone when I click a link inside another app and it opens up a browser still inside that original app (as opposed to opening a internet browser app).

Have you tried tapping the three dots in the top-right corner, and then selecting "open in browser"? I'm wondering if somehow not having it open in a "proper" browser could be causing some glitches? But this is honestly all speculation on my part!

Sorry I didn't reply, my phone was off. And the reason for the x and the corner is because I turned off the settings that opens up chrome when I open up a website in google. I've been using Chatgpt this way for months and I have never had this problem before not until the update that changed the Chatgpt UI. I have been checking if it fixed every day and it's looking positive so far minus the ones that have already been affected. I'm not 100% sure that it's fixed

hm... can I ask you what the keypad is on your phone? Do you happen to use an unofficial one? (e.g. installed via alternative app stores)

also, if you can go into your browser console on a PC and check if anything doesn't seem right (like errors or warnings) that might help

To anyone even bothering to read this, can you explain why I'm forced to suffer from whatever is going on with Chatgpt on my end. I've done everything, but nothing works. What have I done to deserve this. One day, chatgpt was working fine when UI updated and changed on the website this stupid bug appeared. Please, someone, just fix it.

What version of Android are you on? Do you have any updates available for Google, Chrome, Android WebView, etc. available in the Play Store? Basically, anything that could have to do with your web browsing, how websites load/work, etc.?

My phone's Android version is Android 13, and no I don't have the Android 14 update available yet. I have my phone auto update apps this was happening before and after any updates to google, Chrome and Web View. And as I've said before this bug has only been happening the the website changed the UI and it's affecting a majority of my new chats

Did you use the edit and resubmit feature to add in the "extra thing to note" bit, or was that included in your original question?

Yes I did, so I could steer chatgpt in the directions I wanted to go and so I get names that are appropriate to characters that I'm creating

Interesting, so it's showing both your original message, and the edited message, but only showing you its reply to the edited message (the original response is missing)?

As a comparison, check out the attached screenshots from my test chat where I send both versions of your message -- see the 1/2, 2/2? Does this ever appear for you when you edit and resubmit a message?

This is what normal happens.
Whenever the bug happens the original prompt always appears first and then all the edited versions appears under it and then the last edited response from chatgpt. The original prompt doesn't have 1/2 edit thing but the edited ones do. When ever I edit the original prompt when the bug appears the edited versions disappeare until I close and reopen the chat then the original prompt is there and the newly edited version.

Also I don't know if this is useful or not but my email that I use for chatgpt is not the same as the one I use for discord. Reason: they were the same but I lost my original discord account and had to make a new one with a different email.
