#Can't publish due to guidelines?

Hi everyone! I published a cute story telling GPT a few days ago - see it below. I wanted to update a bit in the instructions so users can share feedback, and was unable to publish due to content guidelines apparently (see message below). Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Nothing in the name, description, or experience seems to be wrong, and I tried changing them and it still won't let me publish the changes. Any ideas?

Message when trying to publish:

Your changes couldn’t be published

Your GPT isn’t ready for public sharing yet. Usually, it’s a quick fix.

Here’s what you can do

Review your info: Check that your description, name, and profile picture meet our brand and usage guidelines.
Share again: Once updated, go ahead and share your GPT.
Concerns? Your feedback is welcome here and helps us improve.

Feel free to use your GPT privately for now by publishing to “only me”.

there is an AI app called Story Buddy for kids with a website, unless that’s you. That would probably be the issue. If so you maybe try changing the name. I am sure your GPT can help you. but just so you know, it will definitely create content that is copyrighted. for me it kept on creating the Disney character genie and was like it’s completely different, it shouldn’t interfere with copyright. 😆

that’s what happens when ChatGPT eats too many mushrooms.

Having the same problem and haven't found a solution yet

Thanks for the suggestion! I tried so many different things to change, and it still wouldn't let me publish any updates:

  • Changing the name entirely, and
  • Changing the description entirely, and
  • Removing any reference to children/kids from the instructions (in case a kid-focused GPT is triggering some stricter thresholds), and
  • Making sure there are no references to specific copyrighted material anywhere
  • ...

I suspect whatever is triggering it does not get re-evaluated when I change these things, it's just 'stuck' in the non-publishable state for some reason. If anyone finds a solution (or anyone from OpenAI sees this...) I'd love to hear any ideas 🙂

I am also getting this error and not sure how to overcome it

@minor garnet Funny enough, I can actually go to that link and use the story buddy.. Did you make any changes, or is this just a glitch?

Ah I see.. In my case I've narrowed it down to an Action that I am adding, but I have no idea what's wrong with it :/ It works properly when I use it "just for me".. So not sure why it's not ready to publish. I added the privacy policy too

Yeah, very strange. I suspect either there's some time-based limit, where they only evaluate/re-evaluate the ability to publish every so often, or maybe there's some AI behind it where the evaluation is probabilistic and sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.

#

Oh - I just saw a suggestion to change it to "only me" then public - and that worked! Maybe there was something caching going on and the move to 'only me' fixes it

Darn, still not working for me. Will keep trying. Glad you got yours working!
