Bug Report:

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Have a long conversation with CHATGPT using GPT4 (277588 chars / 39875 words, my conversation started before the introduction of GPT4Turbo)
  2. Ask to regenerate an output when prompted with "There was an error generating a response" or try to modify the prompt that caused the error in generating the response

Expected result:

Conversation should continue, an output should be generated and the previous messages should still be visible

Actual result:

Message is not being sent, previous messages in conversation are no longer shown and no information is given about the output requested to be regenerated, page reload is required to display again previous messages and the button to request response regeneration, multiple fatal error messages are shown in the chrome console, no message is sent and no response is get from chatgpt

Additional information

Browser: Chrome version 119.0.6045.124 (official build) (64 bit)
OS: Win 10 Education, version 22H2

I think I've found the problem. The conversation on the phone app shows the chat as using 3.5 (false, I started it with 4) and maybe the problem is that I'm trying to regenerate a reply using the 4 model on a conversation using the 3.5 model? I'm writing here in case anyone knows if this is the case. I'll try to find out more tomorrow
