On a GPT I am creating I provided a simple Python code that calculates certain numbers. That Python code runs successfully if I ask Chat GPT 4 to execute it. But when running the same code within a GPT, it fails to complete the execution 80% of the time, issuing an “Error Analyzing”. Basically, the execution stops mid-way without completing. The Python code is very simple and small, less than 30 lines of code.

I think this is an issue about resources and performance of GPT-4. GPT-4 is not yet optimized for speed, and resource allocation at the moment with all the traffic they are getting is a challenge. That is my reading. Has anyone encouter perfoprmance issues with GPTs?

Well, it's in Beta, right? They will have to make GPT-4 way more responsive, and as fast at least as GPT-3.5 before they can launch the GPT store. For now, it's a playground

And they will have to add a lot of infrastructure for payments, payouts, tax implications, security for GPT devs so your GPTs are not copied, brand security, and you name it

I'm having issues trying to do a custom GPT... I provided 2 files XLSX as knowledge base and it just keeps making things up while reassuring me that its answers comes from those files.
And they are veeery basic files... it definitley seems dumb.

I don’t think it can actually read xlsm files, you can convert the xlsm to csv for instance & try again. Correct me if I’m wrong

GPT Builder is in beta, and has a ton of performance issues, sometimes not saving drafts, sometimes unable to update, etc. Make sure to copy your instructions from time to time and save them in case that happen. I learend the lesson the tough way...

also, if when you test your GPT, if it stops analyzing or stops mid way, don't freak out and think there is something wrong with your instructions ... it is because they are not allocation a ton of resources to GPT builder at the moment.

also, as the only way to debug your GPT is trial and error, it is frustrating that you run out of time before they ask you to wait for an hour to resume your debugging. It's early days, it will get better
