Custom GPTs Not Sending Message

Bug Report:

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create custom gpt and make a new conversation
2. Type message and press enter - message disappears but ai doesn't show it pop (only works on mobile currently)

Expected result:

Create custom GPT, type message, send and ai acknowledges

Actual result:

Created custom GPT, type message, send and disappears

Additional information

Browser: Chrome (also tested on firefox & edge)
OS: Windows 11

Do you happen to have a banner at the top of your screen asking if you want to use an alpha version of ChatGPT in another language? This used to be an issue at least, before the big UI update, and it would cause similar behavior to what you're describing.

Odd! Do you a VPN installed? Do you have any browser extensions installed that might affect ChatGPT?

Do not have a vpn - as for extensions I do have a lot installed but I was able to reproduce this bug in incognito, firefox, and edge

now that I look at it, this is happening across all my chats on chatgpt, not just the custom gpt chats

But only on the computer, right? On another device on the same network, things work normally? Is that both the app and the web version that both work as expected on device 2? Is device 2 on the same network as the computer?

Tried on both my phone and laptop, both on the same network and same account and they are working (main pc is not working)

Actually, I think I'm narrowing it down - so if you initially load the page and type into a regular chat, it works. But, if you try to type into a custom gpt chat and press enter, it does not work, and none of the chats allow you to send messages for the duration afterwards

I was able to reproduce the bug on my laptop as well

But seems to work fine on iOS app

This is some strange troubleshooting you're seeing here! Glad you've reported here, maybe OpenAI staff can give input or others might have better ideas, maybe you just have found a new bug!

As a test, can you try the main PC or the laptop on a different network, perhaps a phone hotspot? I just wonder if it could be network related, perhaps the DNS or firewall settings of your router, now that you've reproduced it on two computers on the same network.

I feel like you'd get the same result in Safari on your iOS device too, on the same network at least

It looks like it may be a problem with my own custom gpt, as typing in messages works for all other custom gpts

Are you using the actions part of Configure? I have no experience with those features, but I wonder if certain API integrations could cause the behavior you're describing? Otherwise I think the rest of "Configure" works like custom instructions, other than knowledge files

currently no, I tried disabling the code interpreter but that did not do anything

I might try adjusting the instructions I gave it to see if maybe a special character or something is affecting it

I tried making everything pretty barebones, no dice, but it does seem like this is only a problem with just this GPT

I copied down the same instructions and pretty much everything into another GPT and it looks like it works all good

That's so weird. I wonder what got so bugged with the first one where it broke everything like that? Glad you're up and running again

Yesterday I have subscribed the GPTPlus and the 4 Version doesn't work.

It just works on mobile.

And I'm not referring to the Custom. It doesn't work at all.

It works only if I join the Alpha Language

I've heard of the alpha version of ChatGPT in another language breaking the site. You can either accept it or just close it, either should work. I didn't know this was still an issue!

the same thing that happens to you in custom GPTs happens to me in normal GPT4 :(

I've gotten this on one of my custom gpts as well. It seems only that specific gpt is bricked. I've run into further issues with the gpt builder down the line, but this is the only one that's done that

small update, now getting this popup. I've reached out to support directly so hoping I can get it resolved soon

i can't believe that by switching to alpha in language setting my chat is now unstuck. That's incredible.
