Chat GPT 4.0 - Browsing Capability not working after update (All Tools)

I noticed that the browsing capability doesn't work anymore after the latest update.
It still seems to work through the phone app but not using a browser.

When you ask ChatGPT whether it has access to the internet, it says it doesn't have that capability.

I'm having the same problem on Chrome on MacOS for new questions but Browse with Bing continues to work for sessions from days ago and it continues to work for me on iOS app. This problem is reported many places on the web, including Reddit's ChatGPT forum. It appears to be widespread with rollout of new GPT "ChatGPT Classic" that is expected to include browsing/etc by default.

I'm a Plus user also and browsing is not working. The response I get is "I'm sorry, but I can't browse the internet or access current web pages. If you have a question about OpenAI or its offerings, feel free to ask! I can provide information up to my last training data in January 2022." when trying https://openai.com/

@lean furnace on Android I'm also missing the upload file button, and my UI hasn't updated yet, but I DO have the All Tools model, and Dalle/bing works....super weird that the model is there but the upload button isnt...seems like there are multiple people in the same situation on ios/android

I'm having the same issue with not being able to browse via Bing. I'm a paid subscriber and my knowledge cutoff is Jan 2022

Is there a mod who can forward this to their CS team and provide and update?

Im having this issue as well. It also won't generate images anymore either. The file upload button is gone, and also tells me it's unable to browse the web... I'm a paid subscriber as well and use this for my business.

I hope someone is able to get a hold of the dev team on this

This issue for me is not browser related as I have all the GPT mode selections still available (dalle3, browser bing, data etc).

This issue presents when we go into iOS latest update with just GPT4 and GPT 3.5 selections now available and selecting what should be GPT4 all mode (incorporating browsing and all gpt4 modes) it instead has lost all functionality through the iOS app:

❌ use browse search it doesn’t work and is acknowledged by gpt4 in response (please see image)

❌ generate images (please see image)

iOS app is not usable for me in this format and I’ll go back to webapp with the more granular breakdown of gpt4 model selections.

Tl:dr - So basically removing the mode selector in the iOS app has reverted the functionality for browsing and image generation.

What did you guys do? A dev really did a number on your API somewhere.

You should QA and smoke test your updates more before pushing them out.

Hey @proud quail ! I am having the same issue with browsing in new chats on chrome on mac and safari on mac as a Plus user. Browsing works fine on iphone app and on chrome on Windows.

Should you need info such as email used or screenshots so you have more debug info let me know

ian, my All tools is working, but could you confirm its normal for some of us to only have knowledge up to January 2022? If that's part of a slow rollout, no worries I'll rest easy. If that's a bug, I'd love to see how I get it resolved.
