Do you have a VPN installed?
Not that I'm aware of. I've used it fine on this machine for a week or so. So, assumed it would still work.
Yes it might not be anything you've changed at all, just doing some basic troubleshooting that has worked for some others! If you're sure you don't have a VPN, can you try in a different Internet browser? Which have you tried in so far?
Thanks. I've just tried it on Edge and I'm getting the same message as when I use Chrome. I've cleared my chat histroy and disabled plugins too to see if that is causing the issue but it still happens.
Hmm, okay. Edge and Chrome are both Chromium-based browsers -- can you try a new install of a non-Chromium browser like Firefox as a test?
I've just downloaded it and tried it on Firefox. I get this message: Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue
Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to chat.openai.com because this web site requires a secure connection.
I wonder if there is an issue at OpenAI?
That's very odd! It may be some Cloudflare mismatch shenanigans yes, but it's working fine for me and per status.openai.com. It could be a regional thing, but the fact that it works in the app for you makes me wonder if it's a network thing, either on your machine or on your router.
Can you try in browser on your phone, on the same WiFi network? Or/Also, can you try on the computer on a different network, like a hotspot from your phone?
@hard delta, I was on my works computer so wasn't able to switch networks but I'm home and it's working fine - I assume it is a network issue at work. I'll try it again tomorrow and see what happens. It's not uncommon for our IT guys to mess around with settings etc. just odd how it worked last week but didn't this morning.
Aha, I see! Yes I've read before some complications with work traffic--might just be network-level mismatches happening that are breaking site access. Might be something your IT can clear up, might be something that Cloudflare clears up on its own too 🤞
