I have been using the app for a while, and sometimes the responses would hang. If I hit stop in the app, it will crash and the same conversation will keep crashing until I make some advancements in desktop, within the same convo.
After an event like this I was not able to load history again. I have tried clearing cache and data, uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing cache and data then uninstalling and reinstalling...nothing helped.
What did help was that I have created a new account through the same means - signing in via google accounts. The new account was able to create, retrieve and sync conversations without issue on mobile app.
Once I switched back to my (main) account, then I met the same issue.
This issue is only affecting mobile app, as I can see and use chat.openai.com as normal - history and all via mobile browser as well as desktop browsers.
This happens regardless of number of reinstalls, data/cache clearings, re-logins or removing-regranting access to google accounts.
I still have the issue after a week now, and Kate's support is below subpar, and this is the nth time I have run into problems with her.
This is what happened, using the app:
- Start generating any image
- Click the stop button during generation
- The app crashed
- Reopen app, will open a new conversation
- Try to open original chat from history (browse to, tap)
At this point the application will keep crashing.
Before this issue kept persisting, I could continue conversation from the desktop, and was able to continue on mobile if there was a new message, and generation finished. Now, if I create a new conversation on desktop, I am unable to see it in mobile. If I am creating a conversation on mobile, then I will be able to see it on desktop (desktop also includes mobile browser)
After a crash that caused logout as well, I was not able to update history ever again, please see the original picture attached for the error message.
This only affects the mobile version, not the desktop version. I can also access and update history via mobile browser. This only affects mobile app, even through multiple reinstall, restart, logout and login, etc attempts.
I do apologize if I seem to be repeating myself or re-iterating items, I've been through many unhelpful attempts with Kate (helpdesk chat) as well as support@openai.com
