This conversation is too long... suddenly

I kept going further and further up and still it keeps spouting either that:
"The conversation is too long, please start a new one." or "Message in conversation not found"

It's now just 4 messages long and still states it's too long!
Is that supposed to be a new limit like with the images?
It worked just fine an hour or two ago to write in the same exact conversation.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Return to an old conversation
2. Continue the conversation (worked fine)
3. Leave & Return later
4. Continue the same conversation
5. Get told it's too long
6. Scroll up and try that and repeat until nothing's left.... always too long somehow.

Expected result:

Continuation of my chat

Actual result:

"The conversation is too long, please start a new one."

I've tried restarting the browser and incognito... nothing works. Not even one of my longer ones either.

ah yes... too long. somehow. I went straight to the top and even that's still too long.
