Hi ! We have chatGPT on my discord. The problem i notice tough is that it cannot differentiate between different user. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I have added this

"You need to check the name of the person who is speaking to you before each time before you reply because we are not all one persone. Multiple people people are going to speak with you, they might have different gender or role."

to the prompt but that doesn't seem to help. I don't know what to do anymore

I got told to do this but I'm not sure what that.mean tough my dev might come here shortly

The dev will come probably se these answer on Monday since he's taking weekend off but from what I know he seem to think to tell the bot in the prompt to check for name is enough

Also the bot said during this morning testing that :

So she says that but to me it doesn't seem like she treat all the /chat as separate session

How are you running the bot? In a system such as a langchain bot, you should extract the discord name of the user and put it into the prompt

so conversation histories should always have a person's name before the content of their message

e.g
{INSTRUCTIONS}
Person1: Hi
GPT: Hello!
Person2WithDifferentName: Hello there!
GPT: Hello Person2WithDifferentName!

That, combined with the instruction of looking carefully at the names before responding will solve your problem

It depends on your implementation though, the code needs to distinctly identify each person
