ChatGPT-4 Messaging Issue

I am encountering a problem where the messages I send using ChatGPT-4 seem to disappear after I send them. The messages I type are not displayed in the chat interface, and I do not receive any response from ChatGPT-4. This issue persists even after trying multiple troubleshooting steps.

Despite these efforts, the issue continues to persist, and I am unable to use ChatGPT-4 as intended. It's worth noting that ChatGPT-3.5 works perfectly fine without any issues.

Here is a detailed bug report:

Steps to reproduce:

• Open the ChatGPT-4 interface on a desktop browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera, or Firefox).
• Begin a conversation by typing a message in the input field.
• Click the "Submit" or "Send" button to send the message.
• Observe that the message disappears from the chat interface, and no response is received from ChatGPT-4.

Expected result:

• Messages sent in ChatGPT-4 should be displayed in the chat interface.
• ChatGPT-4 should provide a response to the messages sent.

Actual result:

• Messages sent in ChatGPT-4 disappear from the chat interface.
• No response is received from ChatGPT-4 after sending messages.

Additional information:

• Browsers tested: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera, Firefox.
• Operating Systems tested: Windows 10.
• The issue persists even after trying the following:
  Switching between multiple browsers (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera, Firefox).
  Testing on two different computers.
  Restarting both the browsers and computers.
• ChatGPT-3.5 on the same platform works perfectly fine without any issues.
• ChatGPT-4 functions normally when accessed via an iPhone using Safari.

Do you have any browser extensions installed that might be interfering with ChatGPT? If so, it might be worth trying to disable them.

that is not the issue for sure: microsoft edge is purely clean from extensions but the problem is the same

Can you try a clean install of Firefox (non-Chromium)?

Also, do you have a VPN activated? If so, do you also maybe have a VPN Web Protection feature enabled separately? If to to either or both, it may be worth trying to disable both.

I can try with Firefox, but as for the VPN - that is not the issue either, tried from 2 computers with different programs installed.

Will be back in a minute after I try with another browser(tried with Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Opera)

Just to clarify, what do you mean by "different programs installed" regarding the two computers? Different VPN programs? Sorry nothing's worked so far, fingers crossed for you!

Glad it's at least working on mobile for you. Is it the same result if you start a GPT-4 chat on mobile and then try to continue on desktop?

Yes, one has VPN programs but they are off, and another don't have any.

I can't continue on desktop coz my messages just disappear, but I see everything through my computer when I chat via phone.

Admittedly feels like a long shot at this point, but for the one with a VPN disabled, does that VPN program also have separately a Web Protection feature that may be enabled, separately from the VPN itself being disabled?

Last thing I can speculate on is potential DNS settings problems on your computers? Do you happen to have different DNS configs going on mobile vs. on computer?

It's a bit frustrating. At first I turned off Web Protection and it worked, but only with one message... Later it will not work whatever I do

The DNS settings are set by the default. I do not know much about it and what that is.

I managed to get it to work, but not as intended I suppose. I clicked on alpha-testing Chat GPT-4 with my native language and it works. I just speak with it in English and its fine with it.
