Hello,

since 2 days I had the problem, that GPT 4 does not work.
On pressing enter in ChatGPT it only clears the message, but not submitting this request.

This problem seems not to be browser specific.
GPT 3.5 works wonderful.

I don't know how to reproduce this issue. But for context I have a ChatGPT Plus (not Enterprise) subscription.

Target Platforms:
Browser / Web
iOS / Android was not tested

Following workaround helped me:

I have already seen that several had this problem.

Feel free to share your experiences. Is this perhaps ChatGPT Plus specific or also reproducible in Enterprise, on which platform are you experiencing this.

Thank you very much.

me too. I'm relieved to find someone facing the same problem. thank you
Does anyone know of a solution?

Steps to reproduce:

1.Create a new account for chat-gpt.
2. Upgrade the plan to "Plus." (today)
3. Log in on a PC and click on the "gpt-4" tab.
4. Enter some text in the chat input field and click the send button.
5. Expected result:

Expected result:

Receive a reply in the chat.

Actual result:

No response is received.

Additional information

Browser 1: Google Chrome
OS Version: 118.0.5993.89

Browser 2: FireFox
OS Version: 118.0.2

The lack of response is specific to gpt-4; gpt-3.5 is working fine.
Tested on two different PCs, but neither is functioning.
Interestingly, on an iPad, both gpt-3.5 and gpt-4 work.
Even when selecting the "Attach image," "Browse Bing," "DALL-3," or the example text above the chat input field, no response is received.

facing the same issue aswell, the workaround that worked yesterday no longer works now. tried 3 browsers, fresh browser install, reset settings on chrome and nothing works.

Droping a potential set of work arounds here for you guys to see if you wish to try them, if you're still affected:

Several report this worked for them:

  • They went to their account (Clicking their email on the chatGPT web browser page)

They clicked on 'my plan'

They clicked on 'manage my subscription'

That opens a new browser, which they closed.

They refreshed chatGPT window.

They could successfully send GPT-4 messages again.

  • Others reported that didn't help them, but with incognito mode on their chrome browser, they could send GPT-4 messages, but the default mode didn't. If this works for you, that means the issue is probably related to your data stored related to the site, or your extension. Its easy to clear site specific data or disable extensions, try that.

  • One person reported neither of the above helped, but when they tried Safari browser, they could send messages again.

Thank you for providing a solution.
This method worked once, but then it stopped working again.

Similarly to the steps mentioned above,

  1. I turned off all browser extensions.
  2. Clicked on [My Plan].
  3. Clicked on [Manage my subscription].
  4. Clicked on [Return to OpenAI, LLC].(I may not have the exact wording since it's displayed in a language other than English in my environment.)
This allowed me to receive responses from GPT-4.

However, strangely enough, after going back to the subscription manage screen to verify these steps, it stopped responding again.
Also, it initially worked in Firefox but not at all in Chrome.

I did exactly the same steps, but for me it does not works even in first time.

The problem has existed for more than 24 hours for me and there is no official solution for it. It is more than annoying.
