#Add retry to "Network Error" - it's very annoying

I just had a request crash 3 times for no reason.

Outside of the fact that it's probably eating into my 50 messages / 3 hours, the main thing is just that it's annoying... It should have the option to just retry continuing witht he existing version, rather than generating an altogether new answer from scratch.

Ideally it should just retry on its own, like you'd normally do with requests on websites, for the sake of a better user experience.

# tulip matrix I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing. Could you please provide...

Thanks for replying.

I'm using Chrome on Windows 11, and I sometimes use VPN.

But that doesn't seem linked to this problem... It does work most of the time.

Nevertheless, the network error is something that happens somewhat often. And usually I can regenerate the response to get a result.

Thus my suggestion that the website just retry automatically on its own, to deal with minor connection issues.

# tulip matrix Oh since it's not an important bug from what I understand, more a suggestion, yo...

It's the kind of thing that any good website should integrate by default.

The internet has never been completely dependable - and it's worth it to prioritize user experience.

Plus, I think these kinds of little details are things that OpenAI should learn to handle, on its path towards making ChatGPT into a much more mature consumer product.

Currently, it's still more of a scaled up tech demo... No real need to wait for years of coordination with Jony Ive before the site starts to get improvements it should have.
