Not sure if this belongs in here, but I didn't find any better channel

"Bug" Report:
I just got a new email, so I deleted my old ChatGPT account for my old school email (which is linked to my phone) and when I tried to create a new account it wouldn't let me use my phone number. My sister had borrowed my phone number for her ChatGPT account, but when reading the "how to delete your account" FAQ post, I saw that you could have 2 accounts per phone number, and that deleted accounts don't count towards the limit. After unsuccessfully trying to create the new account, someone told me that the deleted account also counted (citing the "phone verification faq" post).

Screenshots attached. (As of today, the "how to delete your account" post has been updated more recently <1week than the "phone verification faq" >1week post)

@rapid herald thanks for reporting this. I'm a member of the core support team at OpenAI here to let you know we've updated the 'how to delete your account' kb article to correct it as deleted accounts definitely do count toward this limit.

Using a phone number at OpenAI is like an irreversible punchcard where once you use the limit 2 sign ups it can no longer be used. Account deletion doesn't change that behavior.

🔑 Also please DM me the email you'd like to use to sign up for an account and I'd be glad to add an exception for you so that email can be used to sign up for a new OpenAI account without needing to complete phone verification this time.
