Today I finished a bulk of the server logic for integration of the Assistants API 🤖 🦜 🔧 📄
It is complex to handle the assistant runs but I figured out a good strategy that is flexible and works for the app. I can successfully send messages from the frontend to server and get real responses that mirror ChatGPT more than ever before (especially when using tools)
My goal is to now (in this order):

right now, only images. working on documents through the OpenAI storage/assistants, and then will work on using local storage so we can avoid the $0.20/GB/day cost or w/e it is

No everything is tied to a user. You can disable registrations and also increase session expiry time so you virtually never have to login

ahh I see, I wanted to host like a private instance of this just for me and a few people but I didn't want login to be enabled because I have a cloudflare authentication worker that's providing single-password auth

The email doesn’t have to be real, but unfortunately no, everything is tied to a user. Also it’s fine to have multiple users on one account if you’re ok sharing conversation history
