#How do I get a refund for having my usage and time wasted

Seriously, I was asking the bot to do the most simple of tasks. Making a table for me from values that I copy and pasted into the chat.

But no. Chat GPT decides to change some of those values nearly costing me hundreds of dollars in electrical components Not to mention possible damage to my equipment for using the wrong components.

How is it possible the machine reading lines of text can manipulate the values to its own values?

How is it possible you can charge somebody for that service, whilst ridiculously also having a limit of 25 messages per three hours!?

I want a refund, or I want to regenerate my usage, back to 0 for my time and money being wasted.

If you ignore this, I will sue you.

I don't think it's gonna work.
You clearly didn't read their terms of service(specifically points 3 and 7 on output accuracy and their liabilities):
https://openai.com/policies/terms-of-use

Currently existing AI can produce unreliable output. You should not use it for tasks where you require absolute accuracy. If you do use it for such tasks you're taking the risks and you can't blame open ai for any damages resulting from the wrong output.

@abstract narwhal Do you think that kind of error should be possible in a paid subscription of $20 per month though?

Sure. It's not an error. If you knew a little bit how this ai works, you'd understand that's it's output is not based on a hardcoded algorithm and can often be unexpected or unpredictable. Terms of service imply that you understand this before using it.

#

It's almost the same as if you ask a stranger on the street to do the task for you and then complain that it didn't succeed.

But it's plain text. On separate lines. It's the fundamental basis for computer science pretty much after a certain point at least. What is the point if they set it to not follow these concepts in some kind of algorithm/programming? To me that is a colossal error.

Thanks for clearing that up openAI staff and/or bots

Tell me, do you also use ai to automatically upvote your comments to make it look like my opinion is wrong?

I only see one upvoted message in this whole thread. Your opinion is just your opinion. It doesn't allow you to ignore the terms of service in any way. I feel bad for any possible damage that was done to you, but just do proper research next time before using a service you don't know much about.

And trust me, open ai has enough problems to deal with besides complaints from people that don't read terms of service.
None of us are open ai employees or bots. We're users just like you.

Anyways, you can always ask refund, they are the only one who can agree or not.
