For my work, I have to use a VPN to work remotely (telecommuting).

I have a ChatGPT account at work, but because of your restriction on using a VPN, I can no longer use it while working remotely.

This is really a bad idea!

Here is the message I get:
Your request was blocked as bot traffic. If you are using a VPN please disable it and try again.

IT is the only solution

We are asking for the ability to allow us to use it on a VPN

I am not trying to start a fight but that is not going to happend

OpenAI have made that very clear

like maybe thinking outside of the box to allow it to happen for many of us that work WITH ChatGPT for our business and don't want to constantly have to go back and forth turning on and off our VPN just solely for ChatGPT

#

what's the reason?

People from restricted countrys(there is a lot of them) can bypass the restriction with a vpn. Using a VPN also allows people to have more than one account which is also against the policy. If OpenAI allows someone to use a VPN they could never know if it is person from a diffrent country.

Cloudflare doesn't like VPNs, so the only solution is to disable them 🫤

I'm not having a fight here. As a customer, I'm making clear that there is a problem for those of us that pay for this service and there is an issue with us having to waste our time toggling the VPN through the entire day, every single day. Our companies enforce VPN, so we are in this constant state of irritation while utilizing the ChatGPT product.

Then dont pay for it

I might sound negative but that is not my intention

I'm probably very naive to the restricted country policies, and apart from the multiple accounts issue, which I can understand, what does it matter to OpenAI if someone logs in from a restricted country? Is it OpenAI restricting the countries or the countries themselves restricting OpenAI? If it's the latter, then why does OpenAI care? Good on whomever the person is to figure it out to be able to utilize ChatGPT.

For most parts is OpenAI restricting countries but for example in china it is the goverment. Then OpenAI banned Chatgpt so it cannot be accesible from china. So the goverment asked for a ban and then OpenAI banned it.

I think

I am not 100 procent on this one

I am stil pretty sure

I can understand OpenAI restricting certain countries

Man, it's just a real PITA to have to deal with the VPN dilemma, though.

Thanks for the feedback, all

Is there a way for a VPN to not include ChatGPT's domain address or IP so that maybe it can use the computer's real IP, instead? Just trying to think of options.

#

guess I should ask ChatGPT Lol
