#I payed to GPT Plus but API don't works.

I received the confirmation OpenAI email one week ago:

You've successfully created your ChatGPT Plus account with OpenAI!
You've made a subscription purchase from OpenAI on ChatGPT. You will be automatically charged $20.00/month, unless you cancel. You can cancel at any time.

But my profile looks that:

You have not upgraded to a paid plan yet.
To add a payment method and start paying for API usage, go to the Billing overview page and click "Set up payment" to continue.

When I try to use the API from my dev app, I am getting a limit exceeded error.
There is no way to take advantage of my payed subscription as what aI wat to use is the API, not much the web version.

  1. Any help is appreciated, as my intention was to try during a month only and the Help Center said me yesterday that expects 1 week for reply.
  2. Do you know if I am able to request a compensation for the lost days?
  3. Previously I was using the API with a free registration. Not sure if that is related.

You pay for the API "as you go" based on how many tokens you used. To be able to use the API you need to specify your billing details. Chat gpt plus only gives you access to additional chat features, like gpt-4 model, plugins and such.

You probably had a free trial of the API that run out now.

Again, $20 is unrelated. It's the price of the chat gpt plus membership and is unrelated to API.

Yes, that's the free trial and it looks like it's expired.
