After months and months of development, I’ve created an extensive chatbot for Discord. Her name is Claire, and she’s been available on Twitch for a while, but now, she’s on Discord, with lots and lots of new features and capabilities.
Her primary purpose is entertainment, but her prompt can be modified, and settings can be tweaked, to make her act in any way you’d like, whether you want a helpful support or assistance bot, a bot who pretends to be Darth Vader, or anything else that may be on your mind. By default, her personality is sarcastic, sassy, and humorous, with a hint of effrontery.
Claire has Internet access, being able to search the web for answers or even browse any web page (that doesn’t block robots). She has specialized code for browsing YouTube channels/videos – and Reddit posts/subreddits – but can access any web page in general, as well as fetch search engine results!
She also has the ability to react to messages and even post images!
Claire is highly configurable, with lots of settings that moderators (users with the ‘manage channels’ permission) can change. You can change the following aspects: what channels she’s in, what her prompt is, short mode, clean mode (content filter), whether she has Internet access, quieting mode (whether she can decide to ‘mute’ [stop responding to] a user for a small amount of time), whether she can post images, as well as the percent chance of posting an image, whether she can post an image twice in a row, and whether a user can override the percent chance by requesting an image of something specific; whether she can post links (with the ability to just disable link embedding too), toggle the orders feature (which lets users set a specific rule for her to follow for X number of messages, the X being 8 by default but can also be chanaged), whether she’ll respond to other bots, what roles can talk to her, and what triggers a response.
