#chat.openapi.com paid account not syncing to api/keys/platform.openai.com account; suggestions?

How, if at all, can I "synchronize" the following things/accounts/spaces? Both of the following use the same account-credentials (email, password) login.

(Also note: pay.openai.com DOES "see" my paid account, billing history)

Am I missing something? A user error?

[Is this not the right place to seek help/solution(s)? Apologies if I'm abusing this channel. platform.openai.com's "chat" support has been, thus far, over ~2 weeks, utterly useless for listening/address/solving this matter. So I landed here, in the api-support Discord channel.]

Again: both of the following use the same account-credentials (email, password) login. And I have managed hundreds to thousands of online/internet/website/etc account logins/credentials across several teams (managed by password "vaults" like 1Password, Bitwarden, etc)... so it's not as if I'm rookie at account management and SSO-ing for the same account across multiple websites. Still: there could be something I'm doing wrong?

I could try to run 2 separate accounts, but then I'd have a "split" set of questions and answers (between the https://chat.openai.com and the apps/clients using API/keys via platform.openai.com... I think?), and that's quite an unattractive "hack."

The API is billed in a pay-as-you-go manner based on usage rather than a subscription. It is a totally separate service.

Got it. Thanks @dreamy schooner .

Suggestion to OpenAI managers/etc: spell this out more clearly, somewhere. Or show me where this is clearly "spelled out."

In any case, I appreciate the clarification.

Please note that the ChatGPT API is not included in the ChatGPT Plus subscription and are billed separately. The API has its own pricing, which can be found at https://openai.com/pricing. The ChatGPT Plus subscription covers usage on chat.openai.com only and costs $20/month.

That's a helpful article, thanks.

I'm not "just complaining" when I share this, I'm actually attempting to help: the above article/reference is buried in the help docs. If I were responsible for the login experiences, I'd consider making some part of the platform. vs chat.openai.com login user-interaction make it clear the above differences. It seems like it's easy for many others to get confused by this.

In any case, thanks for the help!
