hey friends!

i've been having problems catching up with all news happening lately(especially around AI), and they've been giving me a FOMO.
too many good content creators out there, but i've never been able to catch up with their content.

decided to ship a small side-project to help me with that. now AI watches all the content for me(currently YouTube and Substack) and sends me a newsletter once a week, so I can keep up with everything.

it's called https://summate.io and i would be happy to listen to your feedback.

p.s. it is free and I plan to keep it that way, at least till the point when it's not that financially challenging to summarize everything 🙂

here is the current progress and future improvements on the app: https://twitter.com/0xraduan/status/1666408674959532032?s=20

few stats after our launch last week:

  • 1.4k unique visitors for the website
  • 600% growth of users: from 48 to 288
  • 1831 summaries generated.

we received valuable feedback and going to iterate on it this week. next newsletter will be better!

could use something like whisper.cpp running on a cloud TPU or HF hosted inference interface, cost would be minimal i think
ps- seems like the trash/delete button is broken when changing feed, tested on chrome, edge, mobile chrome

Does this work with other sources besides YouTube and Substack? Would love to create my own newsletter based off of X sources, Y number of topics, and present it in Z format. Have tried to build a prompt for the browsing plug-in but it lacks the persistence to continue past 2 topics.
