I am trying to subscribe to ChatGPT Plus to use GPT-4 for my research paper, however, it will not accept any credit card. I have tried:
- Using my credit card
- Using a family members credit card
- Using 2 different OpenAI accounts with 2 different email addresses. One of the accounts has had a ChatGPT Plus subscription before, which I cancelled briefly as I didn't need it, but I now want to renew.
- Using Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox
- Contacted my bank (Royal Bank of Canada) and every card I have tried has sufficient funds, does not have any locks or restrictions, and works with purchases on other websites such as Amazon
- Contacted OpenAI support and have not heard anything back
This is frustrating because it is clearly on the side of OpenAI and every Discord or forum post I have found with people having the same issue ends up with them being told to call their bank and its not on OpenAI's side.
Does anyone have any suggestions besides what I have tried already? Does OpenAI even have a support team you can talk to in real time? If it is this difficult to use their service then I may have to exclude it from my research paper entirely.
