It's an identifier for databases. A UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) is a 128-bit value that uniquely identifies something - in this case, a database or store of information.
@green path it was with hidden files. Could this be the path of a hack on my device? there's reasons for me to think so. Can I find out what the database is for. and who's accessing it?
...no. It's an identifier, and only an identifier. Leave it alone.
If it helps, I'm a certified mobile forensic examiner. Just trust me on this. This is a normal file present in Android and Apple devices.
It's hidden because they don't want Joe Shmo deleting it and messing up their devices.
it was hidden with thumbnails and this other file
As I said, this is normal. Thumbnails are stored as a collection, so they include a .DATABASE_UUID file.
It appears to be a blank file. I wouldn't worry about it - you can probably just delete it.
But in the future, please keep in mind these support channels are for support with OpenAI's API, not general support.
yes I noticed it after I became a user on here. not saying it came from here, I also got a new file manager that sees things my stock files app couldn't.
I would be very careful with that. There's lots of files that are hidden and necessary for your device to function properly.
Don't delete things unless you know EXACTLY what they do.
