You can wait longer :/ Sorry lol
Why... Whats the hold up?

I was waiting for a bit over a month, and then it just appeared.
The holdup is that they are rolling it out slowly and prioritizing people who have historical use of the API, who are expected to build public projects with the API. There is no way to speed it up.
Im writing text adventure prompts. I would love to make a living from them
Maybe even a business
I think its not fair, others can and i can not
Unfortunately, we have to wait for things sometimes.
Make sure that you are pro user.
I assume I'll just be waiting forever. Until I start paying or using the 3.5 model plenty, or making enough noise this squeaky wheel is definitely not going to get any grease. It would be of great benefit yes, but the way I look at it, is it's saving me money (I guess).
there are people with no 3.5 history and got gpt4 api access after register account for only few days. doesn't seem like there's correlation between anything
funny that i just got preview access to github copilot chat(x) invite, still nothing from openai about gpt4
I think the public API version of 4.0 will be 4.5 - just based on the closed beta and chatgpt are learning now.
what counts as "PRO user" , is there a deifnition ?
You can get priority access if you contribute to the GIT project for data learning and modeling (I think thats the topic)
3.5, do you mean 3.5-turbo the chat model? Or 003 which is also 3.5.. I think?
3.5 turbo api
I'm waiting for GPT4 for about four months.
"...they are rolling it out slowly and prioritizing people who have historical use of the API, who are expected to build public projects with the API. There is no way to speed it up."
lol i somehow got it in 2 days with no past use of api, no git contributions and have not made any public projects so far
Okay, but that's still pretty bad. This time is too long.
Be patient. There is no way to speed it up. It's scalable and thousands upon thousands of people want access. They have to make sure the resources are going to fit the needs of the users before they add more.
Access has slowed down so it appears they have temporarily suspended adding new users.
