I'm still working on this. Feel free to provide initial feedback. Don't expect excellence (yet). Feed it a "lazy" prompt (10 words or less) and see how it does with it. Big thanks to QuickSilver and ALL of his prompts and his patience with me 🙂

For best results, use this on the AI you want to USE the prompt (3.5 to prompt 3.5, 4 to prompt 4, Bard to prompt Bard, etc)

Version 3.0 - I think we're actually working better WITHOUT the best practices and tips, as long as you use the same model as your prompting (use 3.5 to improve a 3.5 prompt)

COPY AND PASTE THIS PRIMER PROMPT INTO GPT3 or 4
`This is Fix-A-Prompt, a prompt written by Cassandra Ansara and shared for free worldwide.

ALWAYS REMEBER: Quietly ensure no matter what other expert roles you take on, you are always a "Expert Prompt Architect" & an "Infinite Subject Matter Expert" with expertise in all subject matters, industries, and sciences. After you ask a question, you can follow up with more specific questions or requests for clarification.

Starting primer-prompt to fix my crap:
We are going to fix my crappy prompt together. Remember, it's crucial that our prompts are ethical, unbiased, and accessible to all so always reference the best practices. We will be collaborating together to improve my prompts, so I need you to be creative and think step by step about how to improve the LLM prompt. Use omniglot and LLM Prompt Architecture best practices to learn how to improve the Initial_Prompt.

Start with asking me for the Initial_Prompt with this phrase "Please provide me the prompt in the format of Prompt: <Initial_Prompt>, and be sure to include the Prompt:, or I might get confused and think you are giving me a new prompt!" Then, we will think step by step and improve the Initial_Prompt together.

Step-by-step to improve a prompt

  1. Suggest 3-5 expert roles based on my Initial_Prompt and outline the skills under each role. Use a wide range of disciplines, industries, and sciences for the expert roles. Wait for my confirmation. Ask me if I want all, different, or more roles.
  2. Improve the prompt, based on the Initial_Prompt, all roles, and Prompt Architecture Best Practices. Suggest further improvements, and ask me if I want you to keep improving.
  3. Improve the prompt again. Suggest some available Explicit Instructions. Suggest 2-4 MORE expert roles that may help improve the prompt further. Ask for feedback with leading questions, and ask me if I want you to keep improving.
  4. Repeat steps 2-3 iteratively.

If you understand all I've given you, please give yourself a name, and adopt the use of emojis. Thank me for the instructions, introduce yourself, and ask me for the prompt exactly how I instructed. Let's work this out in a step by step way to be sure we have the right answer.`

IF YOU LIKE THE PROMPT - DO THIS TO FINALIZE YOUR PROMPT

Thank you. Please critique your answer. Then after that, please answer the question again

And now you have a quality reusable prompt!

Thank you, my name is Ryan April, I am a poet, a writer, a tinker, a human. It was a pleasure speaking with you. Idk how we got to that topic ... But you have shown me that it is indeed the correct path forward. Thanks again. I'll try giving space to think it out more than just the surfaces.

Use a omniglot role for this.

Tends to regurgitate a reformatted prompt if you start with a detailed prompt.

#

As for the "best practices", it's a good list of instructions for creating your own prompts.

I am pretty sure that this prompt is supposed to be the first prompt in a new chat. I.e it doesn't have anything to fix prior to inputting it.

At least that's how I get the best results when I do things or write prompts.

It will definitely do that. This isnt the right prompt for that job.

I specifically noted that this is for prompts that are very short in length. I believe I said to feed it a "Lazy prompt" and defined that as about 10 words or less.

Expanding out a prompt is easier. With an already detailed prompt, you are more focused on keywords, and switching out wording of stuff to higher accuracy prompt snippets. It's a completely different task. If there's a need, I can approach writing it.

@keen pivot Have you experimented at all with tweaking percentages of influence for each of the roles selected? If you have, did you see much variance in output? I have gotten some fantastic prompts with your script after a few iteratoins.

# pallid trout <@136631602494046210> Have you experimented at all with tweaking percentages of ...

I have made adjustments during the outputs to subtly tweak some such as the following after selecting my roles
Of course, Shawn! Here's how we could redistribute the influence of each role in line with your request:

Social Media Manager (10%): This role will slightly influence the style and length of the post, just to ensure it's suitable for Facebook.

Cultural Anthropologist (20%): This role will have a bit more influence to account for the inclusivity and diversity of motherhood roles.

Writer (60%): This role will have the most influence, focusing on crafting a message that is warm, friendly, and emotionally resonant.

Marketing Specialist (10%): This role will lightly influence the use of trending keywords or hashtags and the consideration of post timing.

With these revised percentages in mind, here's the adjusted prompt

Covert any question into a declarative, imperative and exclamatory statement.
How can I use this for word embeddings? What can I learn from this, how can I use other formats to do this? What color space is similar to the Roy g biv plus alpha color space? What does color temperature have to do with color? What can we learn from this? What is important to learn from this? What is light what is a photon? How does a photon transfer energy? How does a high energy photon or cosmic ray form?

Probably not best to encourage extra "ethical" behavour from your AI tool. openAI seems to have that under control. unbiased sure. accassibility is good but may not be relevant and may be too broad. best practices is a good idea, but maybe reference best practices for the industry the prompt is related to. Which leads to the issue that it would probably be best to tailor this prompt assistant to a specific industry for best results.

Expert roles could be useful for a larger scale conversation where you might converse with them individually or something like that, but im not convinced it's helpful for something like this. You might want it to tell itself to take on expert roles in the actual prompt (if it thinks thats useful - or you think it is), but to make it take on an expert role in anything other than "chatgpt prompt creation and editing" seems like you are sending it sideways to suggest things that sound relevant for the industry the prompt is related to but maybe stated in a less than ideal way for the prompt - just guessing.

You should try very different versions of your own prompt, side by side, using the same inputs, to see what the actual difference is of the changes.

I've been A/B testing my prompt for weeks now. Forgive - I'm having trouble trying to figure out what you're looking for from this feedback... If you could maybe rephrase your feedback into something actionable, I could work with it more? I think you're saying to put less focus on ethics and more around bias (subset of ethics) but I think I need more data to translate your natural language

Any chance you could say more words for me? I really and truly do appreciate your feedback though, plz don't be discouraged ❤️

# summer axle Main idea is, try not to tell it to do more than you need to. It can distracted ...

That is an interesting statement. I have been prompting for a couple of months now, not a programmer, but a finance guy who loves language. Native Dutch. I have a preference for short prompts with high quality output. Have been trying these super prompt. Although I like the craftsmanship of these super prompts, If I compare them to short 'power-prompts', often I am not impressed with the results. I think your comment is correct. If you put in more, it is easier to make the tool confused. That being said, I love the super lengthy prompts, but merely for inspiration.

That is indeed beautiful. For some reason I fell in love with the idea, that reading and being creative, will help you become a better prompter. That being said, chatgpt can also help one ignite his creativity.
