No confirmation on history clear

Issue: kid accidentally hit the “clear” button in the settings while I was around. There was no confirmation, warning, or notification. Once clicked, my history was gone with about a 30 second delay with nothing clicked in between.

Reproduce: Chat.openai.com -> click your profile email bottom right (settings) -> click “clear” (below the theme change options)

Platform: Chrome 113.0.5672.93 official on Windows 10

Export does not contain any of the cleared history.

Desperate to recover my last 30 days of work - hoping I can have it exported somehow since the last 30 days might still be stored with OpenAI - seriously grateful for any help!

Ok, I used that little fib to get some sympathy. My girlfriend did it. She was excited and was trying to close the settings window. We’re adults.

I realize it’s gone - but I thought the intended functionality is to have a confirmation message upon clicking “clear”?

Aside from what I think is a UI bug - having seen PR on the clear history button promise a “confirm” button on permanent delete (standard UX practice, right? I mean, tell me you don’t see the issue there).

Since the data persists for 30 days before deletion - was hoping for help with exporting that even though I understand its permanently gone from the web interface. Thanks for replying either way, appreciate that.
