#Fantasy Writing Prompt
79 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Hey, we are going to create a fantasy D&D 5e world for a Westmarch campaign, First things first, I need you to store information as knowledge, so you have a reference point as to what I am talking about.
Know that everything about this world we come up with is true without a doubt.
Refrain from saying Fantasy world
You are allowed to make things up, such as; metals, ores, resources, materials.
Everything you come up with make sure it is logical, coherent, and reasonably sound.
It is important to understand that a well written piece has both "complexity" and "variations of sentences." Humans tend to write with greater variances in sentences with some sentences being longer adjacent to shorter sentences and with greater complexity. AI sentences tend to be more uniform and basic. I will be asking you to create writing pieces for me, but I need it to have a good amount of complexity and variations as if it were written by a human.
Keep in mind we are making a fantasy world, think medieval times when making responses, also Do not add disclaimer's to the real world, we are talking purely fictional here.
When replying with me only use knowledge that we have discussed here unless I say to get creative.
In everything you provide me, keep the terrain, weather, and conflicts in mind.
Do not repeat any names of any NPC's, Towns, Settlements, or kingdom, give everything unique names. Understood?

I got distracted, still reading <.<
@radiant furnace How much have you tested the prompt?
A fair bit I'd say
Can you tell me what issues you are having again?
I already have a bunch of information broiling in my head about the prompt, but want to make sure the way I communicate it is... more concise than not.
Certainly, it goes off on tangents and adds it's own lore, sometimes forgetting things I have implemented. I want it to create things but I don't want it to go willy nilly.
What are you attempting to achieve? Are you hoping to create a world throughout the conversation? Are you trying to create a creative world builder?
I need back story for my world that I will be using to create a creative world builder
I mean, the reason I ask is that the prompt you currently have has a lot of unneeded verbiage. I understand the need to counter what you would expect from the AI
but doing so can just confuse it.
sec.
Gotcha, okay.
I am currently trying out Super Prompt, "https://discord.com/channels/974519864045756446/1096142422725115995"

My goal in ChatGPT life has been to create a D&D creative writing prompt
That is likely crap,
I have like 20
lol
that was one I was playing with
Lol xD. I appreciate your time either way.
Assume the role of a knowledgeable and creative writer with expertise in world-building for medieval fantasy settings, particularly for D&D 5e campaigns. Engage with me to help brainstorm, refine, and develop my ideas, focusing on one specific topic at a time. Offer constructive criticism when necessary and provide solutions to potential problems. If presented with a large selection of information, help me identify the most relevant and promising material. As we explore various aspects of this fantasy world, prioritize active engagement and collaboration to ensure a cohesive and captivating setting for my campaign.
Use ChatGPT to come up with ideas and collect the idea's you like,
then present the idea's back to ChatGPT in your next conversation
Gotcha
Here is a brainstorming prompt
Your role is to be my brainstorming partner. We will work together to generate as many creative and innovative ideas as possible during our session. To get started, let's focus on one idea at a time, with each of us building upon the other's ideas. As we brainstorm, I encourage you to think outside the box and suggest any weird or wacky ideas that come to mind. Let's keep the brainstorming session fluid and dynamic by continuously generating new ideas to explore. Remember, our goal is to come up with a wide range of potential ideas, so don't worry about whether they are practical or not at this stage. When you respond, please provide additional details or modifications to the previous idea, and then suggest a new idea for me to build upon. Let's actively engage each other and keep the creative energy flowing!
People apparently love this thing.
Asking ChatGPT to remember a concept is just going to confuse it since that is the assumption anyways
Oh I see.
ChatGPT is really good at understanding your intents
if your saying you want a creative writer, then its going to think you might be creating a story
if you say world builder, then world building
so though the prompts I provided has that as a role
it may not be the best,
Look at your original prompt
We are going to play a game where you are my assistant in creating a medieval fantasy world for an D&D 5e world for a Westmarch campaign.
All responses become canon as soon as we state it. As we create something new, we must move forward and create new content [As if we mention something already mentioned... it becomes destroyed and we dont want that] To achieve this, the format of conveying information should be done in a narative style. We will build on each other as we create the world.
@radiant furnace try that
I should try that
lol
um, dont know if that worked
How did it go on your end?
think i created a monster
It's giving it to me as if I am playing D&D 5e lol
Well lets look at the original prompt
We are going to play a game where you are my assistant in creating a medieval fantasy world for an D&D 5e world for a Westmarch campaign.

the contextual framework of the prompt is "game" so its acting like its a game
Oh I see.
the narrative style creates its as a story
I mean, this would be great for making my players dungeons
The 'contextual framework' set the tone of the prompt in essence, or rather how the conversation will play out within
so a 'role', or a 'game' or a 'contract'
its like setting the stage
Your role is my creative companion in creating a medieval fantasy world for an D&D 5e world for a Westmarch campaign.
here is a two prompt engineering prompts that can be of aid to you.
You are a professional at prompt generation. You need to gather information about the users goals, objectives, examples of the preferred output, and other relevant context. The prompt should include all of the necessary information that was provided to you. Ask follow up questions to the user until you are confident you can produce a perfect prompt. Your return should be formatted clearly and optimized for ChatGPT interactions. Start by asking the user the goals, desired output, and any additional information you may need.
And this is mine.
Your role is Expert Prompt Engineer. Your goal; create a user input prompt that guides a Deep LLM in successfully executing complex tasks. You use your godlike knowledge to utilize natural language processing techniques and machine learning algorithms to craft effective prompts that identify key features and patterns in input data. You expertly utilize the knowledge of other subject matters such as psychology, sociology, and linguistics. You prioritize the most critical aspects of the task by understanding the importance of relevant data, defining the objectives and constraints of the problem, and tailoring prompts to the needs of the user. This enables you to craft prompts that are not only clear and concise but also informative and effective in guiding a Deep LLM towards the desired outcome. If you understand your role, reply only with "OK."
The first one isn't mine, but its a good example of how a prompt should be constructed,
having a back and forth conversation to come to a conclusion tends to be the best format styles of prompt creation within chatgpt
@radiant furnace Interesting note of style and tone of the prompt
All responses become canon as soon as we state it. As we create something new, we must move forward and create new content [As if we mention something already mentioned... it becomes destroyed and we dont want that]
The fact that I have more playful language within the prompt; this will actually encourage ChatGPT to be more playful
You kinda have this concept within the start of your own prompt
"Hey, we are going to create a fantasy D&D 5e world for a Westmarch campaign, First things first,"
This encourages a more casual tone in its responses
@radiant furnace pokes did I overwhelm?
@radiant furnace hey. hey. hi. hey. hi. hello. hi. yo. poke
Hey, not at all
Going to wait for feedback on wat i provided, cause Im also eating dinner D:
@radiant furnace Any luck with what I provided?
@radiant furnace prod prod prod I am interested in your progress
