are plug ins only available to the model when using the ChatGPT website? we are hitting the GPT3.5 and GPT4 API to access the model, and we need the model to know how to use our custom plug in. thanks!

You can already use custom plugins using APIs

found the answer, posting for anyone else who comes here with a similar issue; openAI doesn't expose this (yet) so right now you have to use a framework like langchain agents.
