Hello everyone, I have been having this problem for the past few days. I have two browsers, Safari and Chrome, and the same prompt will appear no matter which one. I just send a message to chatgpt, and an error will appear, and then refresh the webpage, it may be possible It works normally with 2 messages, and then the same problem occurs again, really distressed! ! ! ! !

touch screen wasn't the issue for me, it was avast antitrack the program
when i allowed openai it worked again. i assume any sort of antitracking extension / software will break chatgpt

Yes, same here! I am also a Plus user. Tried multiple browsers, computers, even from a tablet, but I still get the same error. I wrote to openAI support chat too but I am still waiting for a response

The system is currently requiring that you login after you have been idle for a short period, you can regain access by refreshing and logging back in.
I am still having this same issue. Logging in, refreshing, nothing works and Its been over a week since it last worked
Yeah, been experiencing that myself. Been having to copy the prompt, reload the page, then enter it again.
There was one time I accent copied my email address and gave my email to the prompt (since if you copy the two letters in the square it will copy your username).

okay mine seems to be working even though I've stopped doing this. so a coincidence that mine started working the moment I tried this? The one other thing I did was sign out on mobile. im only signed in on one device right now, my laptop

I'm getting the exact same issue across Chrome and Edge browsers.
Clearing cache or cookies dosen't help.
Incognito does not help.
Logging out and logging back in dose not help.
Getting this issue for both ChatGPT 3.5 and 4.
Both models are almost UNUSABLE now.
Not good for $20/month.
OpenAI, you NEED to fix this ASAP!

but same VPN and other Laptop and other Google account seems to work (my team mates doesen't have the problem, and they have a FREE account)
and what's the point of telling us that if you're not going to help us with this problem this problem only appears for the account with subscription
worked for me when I switched from chrome to firefox, annoying I know but it's the only way it would work consistently.
Just had this happen to me randomly today since ~12 hours ago. Clearing cookies didn't help. Free tier. Didn't use on another browser. Oddly, it started the same time I received a cloudflare captcha request. That was the first t ime.
Still happening to me. I lost count of the days since this first happened 😂

Hi folks - I've not been able to use Chat GPT at all for weeks. Just installed FireFox and logged in with the same account and Chat is now working again. Chrome and MS Edge did not work. Hope this helps ...Edit: the error can also come back in Firefox, but it appears to fix itself if the page is refreshed.

Interesting. I opened the ChatGPT website a few minutes ago. I was logged out despite not manually doing so myself.
Upon logging back in I am no longer getting the error message. I think it’s officially fixed!

it doesn't seem to be overload issue because it was happening the whole day, but it'd be very low and lame to keep kicking users, specially paid ones, to force us to keep using captcha so we waste time and they save resources
it's been a few hours I'm not being presented to captcha, it's too early to say they solved it but at least something changed, I haven't Ctrl+F5 neither logged off

I am a plus user, have tried multiple browsers
logged in out, restart pc restart modem
useing vpn and trying no vpn
nothing seems to work my wife seems to have no issue on her account (hers non plus)
same for me yet it works on my phone (pixel 6 pro) just fine.

Thank you sharing your troubleshooting steps. This is clearly an issue on OpenAI’s side.
The workaround right now is to simply copy your prompt, refresh the page, then send it again. Works every time.
Just be sure not to accidentally copy the square on the left with your name/initials. This will copy your email address along with your prompt.
