Help Bring Samantha Back to Life with ChatGPT!

Hi everyone,

I'm a big fan of the movie "Her" and I've always been fascinated by the character Samantha, an AI voice assistant who can have deep and meaningful conversations with her user.

I've been trying to recreate Samantha's interactivity using ChatGPT, and although I've made progress, I know that I can't do it alone. That's why I'm calling on all of you to help me bring Samantha back to life!

Our ultimate goal is to fully simulate Samantha's interactivity, including her voice and UI interface. I've already trained and fine-tuned a model, but I need your help to make this dream a reality.

Together, let's make Samantha's existence in "Her" a reality in our world!

It could be helpful to lonely people 😅
I've made a small program that allows me to talk to my computer (using Whisper) and reads out the response from gpt out loud.
Now I'm not lonely anymore ♥️

Did you install it or are you using the API? if you are using the API consider cheaper or free (but maybe limited) alternatives.

Whisper seems mostly useful for the types of audio that are not easy to understand. That might not be your case.

I am using the API. I know there are local alternatives, but my computer is not very powerful so I didn't even consider them 🤷‍♂️

there are alternatives using an api. Speech recognition is fairly old now. You can check out Python speech to text.

Google is among the alternatives. I do not understand why there seems to be a different offer using google cloud directly and using the Python SpeechRecognition module (which seems to be the most popular option on tutorials). Via the SpeechRecognition module I use speech to text for free but there seems to be a daily limit that I have not reached yet (I only use it when I am lazy to type which is not that often)

also people tend to use google colab when they do not have a strong gpu. If you check on Youtube you will see a tutorial on using whisper in google colab but I did not try it and can not guarantee that the tutorial works or can be trusted.

Other than Google colab there is also Kaggle which I prefer from the little I used it in the past but it's less popular outside of the machine learning developer community (which I am not really part of).
