There is a maximum chat length, you can copy the last few answers from this chat and paste them in to a new one to carry on

it's a bit hard if I am creating a story, not really able to summarize the entire story so far to start a new one. therefore wondering if we can actually pay for tokens etc

unfortunately not, there is a limit of 4000 tokens for 3.5 and 8000 for 4 and anything over that amount (3000 words 6000 words) gets forgotten from the start, first in first out style
