Hey guys!

I'm releasing something on which I've worked on the past couple weekends. My goal with this is to build a really flexible open source offering for a conversational UI that's carefully crafted with plenty of features.

You can try at https://geppeto.chat

The code for it is at https://github.com/henrycunh/geppeto

Give it a ⭐ on Github if you'd like to see it developed further!

I was wondering if somebody else uses geppetto as the name for chatgpt 😄

Good Ui @slender thorn . May I know if anyone has done this with react js?

slender thorn
#

It's all Nuxt 3!

elder grotto
#

@slender thorn , I can work with u to get this in react js. Are u ok to work on react js . Anyone want to contribute to make this in react js?

slender thorn
#

I'm currently working on a new release for this project with many improvements; why specifically do you need it in react? For usage in a commercial project?

Whilst chatgpt is still struggling to get to live data. We built a AI paltform which looks at real time data from millions of social media data. All done with few really cool people. without vc money. Here is snapshot of our work.

If anyone is ready for this; we can collaborate. I have few developer friends

slender thorn
#

I see! Good luck on your business, seems cool :]

#

You can copy the UI as you wish, my goal with this is to have a really good reference for what a nice to use conversational UI looks like

elder grotto
#

UI is good .Thanks for opening it out.

slender thorn
#

Keep posted! There are a lot of improvements to come, this will soon be much better

elder grotto
#

I will DM. Thanks. Keep up the good work.

Have you heard of ShareGPT? You could utilise them to have the chat-sharing feature

#

Someone else integrated ShareGPT into a Discord gpt bot

slender thorn
#

My plan is to have anyone spin up an instance of Geppeto with the click of a single button, through https://deta.space

Deta Space

The Cloud for Doers & Dreamers.

#

So you can get share links for your conversations, sync infinitely between PC and Mobile, and also host conversation presets as mini apps

#

Will publish updates here as soon as they're implemented :]

Nice, looking forward to it!

I kind of changed jobs just to have more time to work on stuff like this; there will be insane progress in the next couple weeks

#

I think you guys will love the direction this will take ❤️

saved myself from a project war by coding only with CLI, no one will ever want to make a cli bot lol
all the people are trying to make better UI, only me making worse😎

slender thorn

I'm sorry! made a mistake on deploying, should not require a password now

#

Nice UI! Do you support infinite context memory with something like a vector DB? @slender thorn

slender thorn
#

it will! the plan is to support local vector searching and later remote sync (and or search)

#

i’m implementing a webassembly version of HSNW that works with indexeddb, much harder than i thought it would be

#

but if it works, should be pretty seamless for the user!

#

there’s no lower latency than local 😛

whole grail
#

Sounds awesome to me! I'm currently using another web client but will certainly switch over to yours with context memory when that's wrapped up-- I can contribute if I get some extra time

#

What's HSNW?

slender thorn
#

ops, typoed it

#

HNSW* is a graph algorithm, really useful for storing embeddings efficiently and searching them quickly

signal stratus
#

hi! do u have a tutorial regarding the installation?

#

i want to self-host this on a VPS running Ubuntu 20.04..

slender thorn
#

hey @signal stratus, there is a Dockerfile now, you should be able to get it running :]

signal stratus
#

not really 😦

#

tried running it locally

signal stratus
#

😦

signal stratus
#

@slender thorn do u have a fix for this?..

slender thorn
#

that's weird! I can't manage to reproduce this error

#

@signal stratus, can you try running it with this command?

docker build . -t geppeto --no-cache
