#Getting an Error when Trying to Pay for Plus

Bug Report:

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Login
  2. Go to ChatGPT
  3. Try to upgrade to plus

Expected result:

Purchase Page

Actual result:

Error: "The payments page encountered an error. Please try again. If the problem continues, please email support@openai.com."

Additional information

Browser: Chrome
OS: OSX

I verified my phone number with an iCloud hide-my-email address and think that may be the issue as all of my colleagues get presented with the payment option instantly (within the same organization).

I cannot create a new work account with my work provided VOIP phone number to purchase Plus either ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Cleared cookies and have the same result after logging in.

Any help would be appreciated!

same problem here and the airplane button not working. there are other people with the same kind of problem. But we have no return. The team is too small to handle so many people.

I think it's account related issues. If anyone has the option try a different account on the computer than the one where you got the errors.

I had the same issue. Tried doing it on 5 different devices and 3 different networks (not to mention different browsers and all other tricks mentioned in this and similar threads) the only thing that worked was creating a brand new account, validating (new) email address and validating mobile number (I used exactly the same number as before when I was setting up my original account)... after that I was able to use chat on the free version AND upgrade to plus with no issues. The original account is still not working at all... Oh and I upgraded less than an hour ago.

This worked for me! Used my personal email address while not in an org and that did the trick ๐Ÿ˜„

Worked here, as well. Created a whole new account and immediately upgraded to Plus.

The problem for me is that the new account would require a unique telephone number, but i got only one
