I've been having the same issue since yesterday as well. I am a paid user, and I get:
I've already refreshed the cache, deleted cookies, used a different PC, and used a different internet connection. It seems to be account-related because ChatGPT works for my friend on the same internet connection (they are a free user).
Update: I found an old tab where I've been logged in from before. ChatGPT works there. However, as soon as I refresh it, it goes away.
Same issue, but I tried creating a free user, now that you mentioned it and that works.
Quite weird if you ask me that they don't prioritize paying users.
Probably just a hidden error that they haven't figured out yet.

I just created a new account without using Google and I was able to signup successfully and subscribe to a paid account. I'll cancel my google paid account as soon as I can log in again ๐

I understand your frustration, but we are all volunteers here, we cannot command anyone to do anything, but OpenAI do use this as a resource to ensure they are on top of user issues

This is the frustrating thing. We are all fine accepting growing pains of a relatively new service. But the complete inattention by the company in their OWN Discord servers or public bug reporting chat is not good.
I got muted for 1-hour for calling it "Service Status Gaslighting" for having an "All Clear" status when p-a-i-d users have been without access for 33hrs and counting

I have had to sign up again (AND pay) using another email address in incognito mode. Pain in the backside as all my history is in my existing account

It is for sure. I provided screen shots above of the error from my paid Google SSO account but being able to get in on the same browser from the same computer on my free account with a different e-mail. Glad you got someone's attention for sure :).

I can login to platform.openai.com with my SSO and it works. It's just chat.openai.com that gives the bad gateway.

- send link to register a non SSO-email
- assign PW to our Google Accounts and bypass the SSO for now using email/pw combo

I have the same issue since early yesterday, that's over 24h already. I do not know if Google SSO is the cause or not, since OpenAI is rejecting SSO of the same ID from Microsoft IdP, which I can use.
This is good to see as I think it's the first person here or in the thread on the community page to show a different SSO failing.
But I cannot test that, since OpenAI rejects alternative IdPs

I think I'm going to make a report to the ACCC as there is no official means of contacting support this I think this breaches Australian consumer laws and before anyone says "doesn't apply to them they are a US company"
Go look at the fines ACCC has successfully done for companies like steam etc

This is the first time ever that I see somebody other than me has a sign of apparently extremely rare form of dyslexia.
I think the biggest thing you could do is get OpenAI to acknowledge this is an issue. They still show status as ok. It would make everyone feel better if they kind of announce they know the issue exists and they are therefore seeing a big red X on their status board as big red Xs on status boards tend to get fixed far more rapidly than discord bug report threads :).

Yes. So ungrateful for a service I'm paying for, that they are still billing, that they are effectively holding my credit card hostage as I can't cancel said service. That they can't be bothered officially acknowledging the issue.
All the while the free tier works, I paid for the service hoping to support them develop the product rather than just using the free tier, seems that is a one way street as so far they don't seem to care.

This issue is an isolated SSO issue so far though? So if I would create another acc with simple sign up, I would be okay? And if itโs an SSO issue only, is there an issue with Googleโs SSO and the connection to the Chat GPT website? And most importantly, our credit cards that are connected there, how will we get compensated in case that the gateway keeps being bad and non responsive?

Strangely, can't use Google Bard with a Google Workspace account.
Go to https://help.openai.com/
Open a support ticket using the bottom right chat ๐ in the lower right corner.
Select --> 'Login or Sign up Issues'
Provide email and explain Gateway Issue
This method will trigger an internal response to the devs on call. The more support tickets the faster we get this handled.

I do not see an option to open a ticket rather I talk to t bot and then soon after the chat is closed

I have been having issues with Google SSO on my desktop. It works on my laptop but it does not work on my desktop for some reason. I have tried everything under the sun to solve this issue but I dont know what else to try.
