Hello and yes! You can set parameters for your ChatGPT character in the system role as this is actually the advised method to do it. The system message "you are a helpful assistant" is just a default example.

But please note that in this version the system message not weighs so much for the chatgpt, so if you want the chatgpt to have more specific character, I suggest making instructions with the role ‘user’
