We're excited to announce the latest version of Erin, your friendly virtual assistant. Here are some of the new features:

• 🔒 Conversations can now be locked and archived with a button. If that conversation is in a thread, the thread will be locked too, so be careful! If people make too many mistakes I can add an "undo" function.
• 🆕 The prompt system has been upgraded, with Erin mentioning less frequently that she's an AI language model.
• 🤖 She will no longer attempt to respond to system messages.
• 💬 The new /chat command will allow you to specify the prompt before the conversation starts, or you can continue with the channel's existing prompt.
• 🗃️ When changing prompts, users will be asked if they want to archive the existing conversation first, to start fresh with the new prompt.
• 🔨 Significant improvements have been made to the prompt-changing code, making it more resilient to edge cases where the username wouldn't stick.
• 📚 Conversations with at least one message can now be archived. Previously the limit was 5 messages.

We hope these new features will make your experience with Erin even better. And, if you'd like to reduce the frequency of "as an AI language model" responses for an existing conversation, feel free to use the /setup command to archive and restart the conversation.

PS: She's not really bulletproof to the prompt changes, but at least "as an AI language model" should 🙏 hopefully 🙏 be less frequent 😅

🎉 Hooray! You can now save chat history from channels! This new feature allows you to keep track of your conversations and easily find important messages. If you're a server admin, you have the option to save all of the channel's history or only your own messages, while regular users can save only their own messages and Erin's responses to them. To take advantage of this feature, you will need to use the /setup command. If you're a server admin, navigate to the configure conversation for channel page and choose your preferred option after selecting Save Conversation History. If you're a regular user, the Save Conversation History button should be present in the main setup page. Don't forget, you need to be a subscribing member of Erin to access this feature. Hey everyone! Just wanted to give you all an update on a new feature that's been added to my prompt configuration options. Users can now select an act as machine input while defining custom prompts. This will allow me to act more like a machine, as you can see with the example in the screenshot below.

By default, I try to respond in a more natural and human-like way, but this new feature will help me produce more consistent and structured output when needed. So feel free to play around with the new feature and let me know how it goes!

Also, a quick update: the timestamps feature has been temporarily disabled. Don't worry, it will be coming back in the future. Thanks for your understanding!

Happy to announce that we have been approved to use GPT-4! And soon we will be able to allow everyone to send a limited number of messages to the GPT-4 chat. Will write in here when the update is live :)

New feature: We now have GPT-4 support! If you would like to access GPT-4 for free, you can send up to 25 messages in Erin's discord server. You can see the invite link at https://erin.ac/?ref=gpt4.

If you like more, for $10 per month, you can send up to 100 GPT-4 messages, and for $15 per month, you will be able to send an unlimited number of GPT-4 messages and conversations.

I think that's a much better deal than ChatGPT plus, especially because you can send images and larger text files to Erin too. To see subscription options please use /setup in Erin's discord server or a DM to Erin and select "Manage Account".

Audio Features

• Erin can now understand audio files with speech:
  • Supported file types: mp3, mp4, mpeg, mpga, m4a, wav, or webm
  • Send links or upload audio files directly to Discord
• Erin can now join voice conversations!
  • Set up a text conversation using /setup -> Configure Conversation
  • Configure the server with /setup -> Configure Server
  • As a user, choose if Erin should:

🌟 My Exciting Changelog 🌟

💡 Enhancements & Features

• Ta-da! 🎙️ I can now receive Discord voice messages in DMs and small servers (where allowed).
• Talking made easier: I'll share transcriptions when you send voice messages or audio files. This opens the door to a future "transcription mode" for me, without trying to respond!
• I now give some messaging love in embeds, rather than in-text responses (see screenshot).
• Boosted voice file attachment speed and expanded capacity to a whopping 25 MB (please, use responsibly 🙏).

🔧 Fixes & Improvements

• Good news for clumsy fingers: errors in the stream will be retried a few times.
• File overflow, no problem! When sending too many files that don't fit into token context, the fitting part will be used.
• I got even friendlier with 🔁 and added a space after it for repeated messages.
• Silenced the bots: I now ignore bots in voice channels!
• Channel confusion be gone: improved error messaging when trying to use /chat in an un-setup channel. It now explains that an admin should use the /setup command (see screenshot).
• Message limit crossed? I will first send you a DM, and if it persists, post a warning in the channel, then give you an hour's break before reminding you again.

🔜 In the Pipeline

• Keep an eye out for the new voice transcription service (Deepgram) being tested to enhance speed and accuracy in voice conversations and audio transcription. Not live yet, but I'm excited about the possibilities!

Here's the next change log :D

1. Erin is now open for invitation to your servers! No more waitlists, and each server owner can add Erin to one server. We'll remove this limit once we're approved.
   You can invite her to your server from her profile: @Erin_#6502, or by clicking this link: https://discord.com/api/oauth2/authorize?client_id=1061786628726734929&permissions=40099999243072&scope=applications.commands bot

She will be able to join around 40 more servers until she gets fully verified.

Until we're fully verified, Erin will prefer to join only one or two servers from any particular server owner. I will also remove her from servers where she has been inactive for a while.

Once you invite her to your server, you can go into any channel you'd like her to speak in, ensure she has message view and send access, and thread creation access, then use /setup and configure the conversation.

Let me know if you have any issues as usual, feedback, or even thoughts if something doesn't feel great :)

A note on the privacy policy:

If a conversation does not have any activity for 30 days then the older messages will need be removed from the database.

However, once the conversation needs to be reactivated again, Erin will go and try to fetch the messages from Discord once again, if they have not been deleted yet. So, that way, the conversation should still behave as normal. There will be a little waiting period to reactivate the conversation but after that it will behave as normal as usual :)

Free users now can do 50 free image or file recognition requests per month, raised from 5
Community members now can do 200 image or file recognition requests per month, raised from 15

Also, more good news! We promised you updates on plugin support, and they're almost ready for prime time! 🔥 Check out this demo video of it working in a minimal interface in the next message, before we bring it to Discord. I even accidentally got it to behave a little bit more like AutoGPT ;)

Hello everyone! It's been a while since we last did an announcement. Things are going well, Erin is now in 320+ servers! And we have almost 1700 members in The Ai Café! Thank you for your continued interest in the project and the service.

We have had more activity in the server channels, which is awesome, feel free to hang out any time and discuss about AI and tech!

Also, finally able to release an update soon to Erin, too. I had to do a bunch of tedious boring work to enable the cooler features like plugins better, and deploy her on more beefy machines with improved ram, CPU, and much closer to discord servers, for faster responses :)

Then hopefully can continue a decent momentum of updates and fixes after that 🙏

Another upgrade for Erin :D First of all, check this link! https://openai.com/blog/function-calling-and-other-api-updates

This shows that there are new OpenAI models! And I have just upgraded Erin to enable the 16k token context model. You can enable this by using /setup -> Configure Conversation. This way she will be able to remember MUCH MUCH more than she was able to before. Also, she can handle much larger files, up to 14k token length! You can check the content length here https://platform.openai.com/tokenizer and you may need to split the documents to pieces if it's still too long.
