#API did not enforce hard usage limit

The API did not enforce the usage limit on my account. My hard limit was 5$, and my current usage is $161. I'm not sure if I will be able to afford this payment, as I was trusting that the API would not let me go over the hard limit.

Are you sure you set the hard limit or the soft limit? Did you remember to save the settings once you set the usage limits?

It took fives days for my gpt-3.5-turbo usage to be correctly reflected on my Usage page. Thankfully I didn't use it much, but if I had used it enough in that 5 day window, I have no doubt that it would have been allowed to go over my hard usage limit. Hopefully, given the nature of the hard usage limit, you can get in contact with OpenAI and sort something out.

Yes, I had set the hard limit properly.

I contacted the support and received a bot message indicating that the developers are the aware of the issue and that I will receive credits to cover the overcharge.
