ChatGPT cannot remember information

I am trying to get ChatGPT to analyze some text. I told it "I am going to paste some text. do not respond to it just say "I have stored this in my memory".", then put the text in the same message. I later told it to analyze the text, and it told me: Understood. Please provide the text that you would like me to analyze. I told it "it is the text that you responded to with : "I have stored this in my memory."", and it told me "I'm sorry, but you didn't provide me with the text to analyze. Could you please provide the text you would like me to analyze?". I have tried putting it in the same message, but it simply ignores all instructions and responds freely. What could be a remedy to this?

I know the feeling... It seems that GPT is somehow not as great as before, or maybe too many ppl using it.
Clearly doesn't remember anything here!

I ran into this issue as I was attempting to plan the pacing of a D&D game I'm running. Had it provide time estimates from a summary of the adventure. Then I had it provide estimates on the three specific parts of the adventure based on the details. It totally failed to put it all together. Started creating it's own thing instead of using the context of the conversation as the seed.
