Bug Report:

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Login to free version of ChatGPT
  2. Start a few conversations or more. Reach your limit for the hour.
  3. Upgrade the account.
  4. Attempt to add to the conversation you created during the time you had the free version.

Expected result:

Posting should work with the paid account even if it was from a previous conversation. Also the error message should be spelled correctly.

Actual result:

It is showing an error that says An error ocurred. Try refreshing your browser.

Browser: Google Chrome v109.*
OS: MacOS

I realized why I'm seeing an error. After upgrading my previous conversations are all unavailable to post on.

Having the same problem. Conversations should migrate to the paid version.

Since I haven't switched to the paid version yet, I'm interested to know if Open AI assured them in writing when they switched to the Upgrading to Paid Version of ChatGPT that previous conversations would remain available after switching to the paid version? So, that ChatGPT still remembers the posts from the x_paid_x version?
Correction: So that ChatGPT still remembers the posts from the free version?

All the conversations were still available. It's that I couldn't continue the chats without encountering an error when submitting.

I just upgraded and receiving the same error as well. I cleared all cache, cookies, and site data, but still getting the error 😦

Same problem: I just upgraded to Pro, and now ALL new requests to previous (free) conversations give me error "An error ocurred. Try refreshing your browser.". Refreshing the browser does nothing. Log-out and log-in again does nothing.

I'm having the same issue with my account. I signed up using the Gmail authentication. I haven't been able to get replies to any of my prompts for the past 2 or 3 weeks even though I paid the $20 for the plus subscription and it shows me as a plus subscriber.
