UPDATE: Do not just paste the website link! In this case, chatGPT seems to make up the content of its text purely out of the words contained in the link.

Instead do this: ->

Copy the whole content of the website into the prompt.

This is done in the following way:

  1. control-A (windows) or command-A (macOS) to select everything in the browser
  2. then control-C (windows) or command-C (macOS) to copy the whole website content into the clipboard.

Then you prompt it:
"please summarize the following text"

And then you paste the whole thing into the prompt. It will, for the most part, ignore all the mess coming from ads or links and give you a valid summary.

This is a website from today.

Here is another pretty recent news article by CNN titled "Pentagon tracking suspected Chinese spy balloon over the US" (so you can go and search it on google, can't post links here)

if it gives you an error then you can simply copy paste all the text present in that website and tell it to summarize it for you and he will do it for you

So now you don't have to read those bla bla bla news articles anymore. Just copy and paste the website link and get the information served straight up. 😊

Maybe there is a way to do it with a whole domain. Like this, you still have to collect the links for the articles for the news of the day by hand. I just want it to give me a summary of the news of the day, lol.

Then I need to delete this entry from the prompt library.

i can't believe it would generate TEN bullet points of something that it doesn't know anything about and it sounds so plausible!

It doesn't work when I only use the link.

It wont summarize the content. It will based off the link and make up a satisfying answer.

Yeah. I updated the prompt instructions saying you gotta paste the website text into the prompt... oh well. 🙄
