There are two way you can search for Web in Chat-GPT 3.

  1. Using google chrome extension just search WebChatGPT in extensions.
  2. Using below Query.

Query :

This also give references as well for all the source.

Is there any way for chatpgt to incorporate said search result to its native prompts or ie: other than narrate the search result, answer certain requests based on data found from the search? Cause I seem to only get the use of it to generate narration based on the search

As far as I know, chatGPT does not have its own connection to search the internet.
It is trained on data from the internet, but does not know the exact wording of the text like Google does.

chatGPT:
As an AI language model, I was trained on a massive amount of data, so I am unable to recall the exact wording of the data I was trained with. However, I can retrieve and generate responses based on the patterns and information contained within that data.

For option #2 (not using a chrome plugin), the prompt is misleading. You are actually telling Assistant

"Please answer my question or infer the question from a URL and answer the question as per usual and hallucinate a plausible URL to go with it."

It is a fun game, but it doesn't have perfect recall of, I don't know, a training history of crawling the web. It does make amazingly good guesses about what the URL of a document might be.

A small thing about the design: On the start screen there are two similar looking fields (save my time, pretext), one of them is a button. The first time it is not clear which field to click.
The user has to wait too long, but the performance can be improved later.
The links in the references seem to be well chosen. Where do they come from?

What is the best way to wander through the information paths?
After the initial summary, there is a list of other suggestions for related information.
If I click on one of them, I get a second summary and a second list of suggestions, but the first list disappears.
If I think of it like a branching tree, I can't get back to where I started my journey.
If I would then start again at the front of the tree, the other branches should not be deleted.
Further, it would be nice if I could add my own question without losing everything already on the screen.

The summary seems good, is it from GPT?

I have an idea to create a short 3 sentence summary for each reference to help the user decide which reference to look at or not.

If there was a relationship between the reference links and parts of the summary, perhaps it would be helpful to include the links in the summary at the appropriate places so that the user can click on the related reference directly in the summary.

You're not supposed to send German text for translation to the Vortext app. It's a particular app for GPT+search, not translating using GPT, unless you are using the particular line for searching and English equivalency. Find another app that can do it for you.

@tiny notch Wow, I really enjoyed my experience! Vortext has helped me learn in about 5 min that the Transformer model has had some interesting developments, leading to a new model called Transformer-XL, which is an important factor in the performance of GPT-3 models. There doesn't seem to be any publication saying that this new model has been implemented in GPT-4. However, I think its ability to maintain context and "remember" like it does seem to indicate it also runs a Transformer-XL model.
