I asked ChatGPT many times to write a story in the range of 1000 to 1700 words, but even though I repeat this many times, it can only write a story of maximum 300 words. Yes, I know he's not a story-writing robot or anything, but he still didn't do what I said, even though I stood on it.

I posted in bug reports before the server was reorganized, but my bug report showed the before and after of a story generation request using the same prompt with the Jan 9th and Jan 30th versions of ChatGPT and the Jan 30th version definitely ignores your instructions and creates a mini-story in a single response instead of letting you ask it to create a thread of story fragments that work together. Too bad, I was having fun getting ChatGPT to tell me new stories that had a plot line and a sequence of (rather creative) events...
