Good find! It's impossible to change that prompt it seems though. When you create a new one with different date and or cut-off time it still tells you the default one.

Went from WeirdGPT to star wars characters deciding on which tacos to order.

THIS IS SUPER USEFUL.

ChatGPT is not as aware of some literary works as it thinks it is.

It can't tell summary it knows from actual works. I've explored this by asking specific detailed questions about specific works, for example, it knows about the basic plot of 'Dragon's Egg' by Robert L. Forward

it was able to tell me about setting, race names, and a few other major details.

What it didn't know was any specific details from the book, such as how a human character had undiagnosed cancer (which was detected by the alien race near the end of the book) or what and how these aliens ate (also covered in detail in the book, and a major part of several plotlines)

This gives me a way to better quickly explore the true level of detail ChatGPT knows about a specific work of literature, and scan to see what level of real detail is available to ChatGPT' and what's just being made up

I have been playing with it now for a few weeks but only just gotten into prompt creation and using other people prompts in the last few days. While using alone, but in different chat threads I was getting very similar to almost matching answers /outputs when prompting the same questions. They felt almost plagiarized and even when I deleted the previous prompt thread and tried again in a new one the answer was the same, It was interesting but made me doubt a few things about its randomness. Not sure if its because it was associated with the same account/user but is was disheartening. Faith restored.... hahaha

What you are measuring when you measure something like this AI is not necessarily 'all it can do or show'. You're measuring how it responds to how you approach it, AND how it is constrained to limit those responses.

If you speak to it in expected ways, it is likely to already know how to give expected answers.

If you speak to it in unexpected ways, you may find either its limitations, or how it will behave when offset from the expected answers.

You're attempting something impossible for the model to do, assuming you want real data. ChatGPT does not have internet access. It cannot look up 'real info' for you. You cannot change this. that's not how this works.

You can go play with the Bing version that is through the bing search engine by signing up for it and being accepted.

You can research itself, copy articles, paste them into Chatgpt, and ask for summaries or anything else - ChatGPT is excellent at handling this sort of task!

Or you can ask Chat GPT to make up missing info.

But if ChatGPT thinks you want real info - then it has to tell you what it's telling you.

btw the server that your ChatGPT session is running on tells it what date it is. it's not some magic and it won't allow for you to get some new dataset or whatever you may think it can.

People who are saying that they cant understand about how it gets the current date; well, the developers may have inserted a database of all future dates (upto a specific year or smth) and it just counts and increments that date since it had knowledge cutoff.
