Do you want to write 10x faster?

I just built a small app to help you do exactly that by auto-suggesting the next words you might want to type, leveraging OpenAI's Davinci model.

Please try it yourself and let me know any feedback and suggestions you have: https://ai-cowriter.com

trying it out. its nice, but each sentence pull is slow. I tried a basic linkedin prompt for my industry (alternative investments) and a topic ( capital raising risks). It didnt generate exactly what I was going for but I did leave the prompt small to see how close it would autocomplete on one of the top three vectors I would have written. the biggest problem is the delay in each sentence completion. can you streamline that code to get it to pull and generate faster? I wasn't timing it, but it felt like it took around a second between sentences.

AI output deletes when I type @storm pilot

I was trying to go for a feel like GitHub CoPilot which I love when coding, so I did add some wait time (800ms for after typing - also to not send an API request after every character - and 400ms after the previous suggestion has been accepted). Can try to reduce those a bit.

#

The output is supposed to delete when you continue to type as that indicates a rejection. You can accept it by pressing "tab" or "enter"/"return".

#

@brazen island redeployed with slightly lower wait times - does it feel better?

I think the lag time has decreased to something I consider not bothersome. if you were going to commercialize it, i think it would need to be decreased even further, but it seems fine to me at this speed as sort of an MVP/alpha you could build off of.

Very alpha for sure 🙂 Thanks for testing it!

stumbled across this organically through #1037561385070112779... i barely wrote anything for my test run, (literally the two letters "as", as in "as you all know"). i did make use of the prompts before i started writing. very cool! a nice-to-have on my list would be "just write the bloody thing and let me reject/approve the strings when you're done", allowing for greater iterations. a line that kind of seems meh by itself might be awesome when paired with a line before/after it, yaknow?

Its a bit clunky. Someone I recently met showed my type dot ai that does similar. Maybe have a look.

Also, I use copy.ai mostly which is advanced

Great concept. You've taken AutoComplete to a whole new level. I can see something like this being integrated into word processing software.
