Learn why color directions may not match specific objects in a scene.

#

The AI often has problems allocating colors when there are multiple objects in a scene. For this simple test we will not use any art style prompts at all, just two objects as subjects. Here is the prompt: “a blue sphere and a red cube”.

#

Hmmmm. We asked for a BLUE sphere and a RED cube. Only half of these got the colors right. What if we add a third object and a third color direction: “a blue sphere and a red cube and a yellow pyramid.”

#

Nope. Not only are we starting to lose the correct count on the objects, the AI has gotten more confused about color allocation as the number of colors and objects increases. This explains why you are likely to have problems getting things like clothing colors correct. Here is: “a man wearing a red hat and a blue shirt.”

#

Only one of these is completely correct in getting a RED hat and a BLUE shirt.
At least for color allocation, it can be very difficult to get DE2 to produce something very specific. If you have a general idea of what you want and accept the random nature of the gens you will tend to be more satisfied. If a specific object must be a certain color, you may need to produce it first, then use outpainting around it.
