So I reported yesterday about the new annoying UI behavior in the desktop browser version of the chat entry field grabbing focus when I was trying to page between different branches using the arrow buttons. Today, it's back to normal, thank fsm. I also rebooted before opening my browser today. Coincidence? Who knows. I'm glad that's gone, was getting ready to try to send an official complaint, despite that not working before on their website.

Anoother change I'm glad remained, pressing enter accidentally while entering a prompt in the main entry field no longer sends it, it just puts a line feed in there. Anybody else notice it does that now? It now bhaves the same as when editing an earlier prompt, where pressing enter just does line feed for as long as I can remember.

pressing enter does send in some situations, ie:

• at the end of the prompt
• the desktop browser window is wide enough
• the previous generation is complete
  also its worth noting that if you cancel a generation with text in the text field, it will automatically send that.

Using Firefox, windows 11 here, and in the last couple months, NVDA and soley keyboard navigation, on top of that which could be affecting the way the UI works, don't know for sure. Before a few days ago, didn't matter where my cursor was when I accidentally hit enter instead of shift-enter. It sent the prompt right then. Now, no mater where the cursor is, it just sticks a line feed in there, and I like it much better. I'm not a perfect touch typist, and I'm quite likely to hit enter when I meant right shift. I haven't bothered to cancel generations since I got premium almost as soon as it was available.

im the opposite, i tend to cancel generations now that i do have a team sub. if im gonna correct the machine going off rails i might as well keep its failure as an example.

also finding the edit button for previous prompt is a pita. meanwhile better ui/ux like perplexity dot ai, will show the edit previous prompt button at the bottom of the response (where it should be).

Coming out of having used AI Dungeon and NovelAI before ChatGPT was unleashed on the world, I'm glad the edit button is next to or below the prompt. (depends on your text zoom level) I'd assume an edit button near the response would let you edit there, something I miss with chatgpt. when developing a story, all an output might need is a couple tweaks to fix mistakes and then can go on without trying to endlessly tweak the prompt before it.

Its features are limited, your not missing out on too much. Its just like chat gpt but can provide links and images. Not too useful unless your trying to write a college paper. Voice mode is much more versatile, with being able to have it do voice, have fluid conversations, and interupt it. Voice mode will be revolutionary when it can do what the copilot demo did and see computer screens to help with real time programming or studying.

neither, apple intelligence is integrated in all apple platforms, the average phone and computer can only process so much, then you have the option to fallback to either apples own anonymized servers (private cloud compute) or openai to indirectly use chatgpt, where there actually are capable hardware to process queries with more parameters. both of which are free tmk, but things are still in beta and so are subject to change.

Hey guys, I need your help, I'm completely desperate by now. I just can't get it to “configure” chatgpt for my purposes and there are many purposes.
I have also looked at a few courses to get to know many patterns etc., and have implemented most of them very well.
But there are always occurrences, such as when I upload a document to a custom gpt, want to work with the information from the document and he starts hallucinating or uses information on his own that does not come from the document, although I instruct him in the instructions and later again in a prompt to use only the knowledge from the document and that he should quote the basis for his statement from the document. Than, he answers me the same thing several times although I ask a supplementary question to which I expect a different or supplementary answer.
Furthermore, one of my custom gpt's acts completely differently when the code interpreter is on than when I turn off the interpreter, but I need the interpreter for some tasks.
I sometimes spend more time checking what it tells me than if I had done everything myself in the first place.
So it is completely useless for me. I could list here 20 examples where it took me nerves completely out.
Are there any guidelines or experience reports etc. here that can help me further, unfortunately I haven't found them yet.

I am a Plus member, and when ChatGPT 4o was released, I was thrilled. I noticed a certain improvement in the responses. I should mention that I am a programmer, and it has helped me a lot in many of my developments and daily conversations I've had with it. However, I am concerned about several function losses that I have noticed lately, which I find very worrying.

I want to start with the most obvious part, which is a personal observation, but in my opinion, it's the beginning of all the problems—the fact that ChatGPT is not uncensored. This is a personal assessment, and I understand that it's due to global security concerns, so that a terrorist can't easily access certain content or that it can't respond to sensitive conversations. I think it's a mistake to have limiting policies, but this is my subjective point of view.

As I mentioned, I was happy with ChatGPT, but I gradually noticed how it lost functionality over time. I'll give examples: I mentioned a medical case involving a family member, and when it used to provide accurate medical data, it no longer does so. Now, it refuses to give that information, suggesting instead to consult a doctor. (When I program, I don't take everything literally—I have the judgment to know what to use and what not to.) I believe this is a significant setback, even for those who want to use ChatGPT in medical research.

There are thousands of examples like this, and they are functions that used to work but now ChatGPT refuses to perform due to new "security policies." Whenever "security" is involved, it reduces functionality.

Another example is asking it to perform simple tasks, and even in that, I've noticed that it either makes up results or doesn't complete the task, when before it would generate results within its own environment and do its best to work on developments. If some of these functionalities that I insist used to work but now don't have been changed "due to regulations or security," it would be good for OpenAI to communicate that in an email or statement. Even functions that worked in 3.5 have stopped working.

I’ll end with the phrase: "A society that gives up a little freedom for security deserves neither and will lose both." I used this tool to develop projects, but now it has less reliability than version 3.5.

Dear devs, we're mid way through 2024 and GPT still cannot reference its own responses from literally seconds ago. It constantly 'forgets' key parts of your conversation and prioritizes inferring what you need rather than doing what you asked. If it makes a mistake and you correct it there is a high probability its 'fixed' assertion response will contain the same mistake. This has been a problem since GPT 3 became publicly accessible for me and has only worsened with GPT 4. When is this going to be addressed?

I understand this isn't like a small technical feat but the amount of garbage responses you can get in a conversation is astounding. As a pay by token service there should be a way to protect my credits from this issue

or a clear roadmap on how or if it can be fixed

Look into Element then, it’s made by Kushview I think it is. I loaded VST3 for my vocal chain when I was gaming. Worked great. Interface in, load and connect your plugins and then route to the audio cable. Use the cable as your mic and you’re good to go. I used a mix of SSL and FabFilter plugins when I did it.

I've been asking it over the course of a week when it's knowledge cutoff date is with 4o selected in chatgpt on both the desktop webui and the android app, using voice and text, and it always answers various cutoff dates in 2023, and admits it had no knowledge of gpt4o, it has to look gpt4o up online to know what it even is. I had like an hour long conversation about it when I was driving home from work yesterday. I've been using LLMs since GPT2, I currently have a subscription to GPT, Claude, and Grok. I also have several LLMs installed locally on my computer. I can tell the difference between when they're hallucinating and when they're not. This is not a hallucination, it's not using gpt4o. There's no way OpenAI isn't aware of this.

Previously, every time it was asked, it answered April 2024 as witnessed in this discord by parsing for "April 2024". When GPT4o was released in may, users were able to confirm that they had access to the model by asking it it's current cutoff date. Additionally, it would be able to answer questions regarding gpt4o specifically (without doing a websearch). Now it has no knowledge that it even exists, so through this logic we can conclude that the cutoff dates it self-reports are indeed valid, however, you're correct about the API though. It's not using the real GPT4o either apparently.

LLMs dont "know" anything, but GPT has certainly always accurately articulated what model is was using and when it's cutoff date was in the past; without error. It's not a subjective opinion really, because even if we continue to dismiss my first hand exeerice with this, there's a record of this in this discord, on reddit, and all over the Internet. I'm not the first person to notice this change in recent months. It's possible that OpenAI has changed the models parameters to not be able to answer this, or removed this type of information from it's training data, but it seems more likely it's simply not using the model that's selected, and either way, considering this is a service we pay for it seems very unethical that they continue to neglect to address this issue publicly.

they do, here is a nice thing you can do, but that may only work when it is a recent release or a preview model, I'll cite a personal example of mine
when the Dalle integration was first release the model was still not "made" to work with dalle, so.. it has a system prompt that instructed the AI on what to do when the suer asked for images...
you would be able to ask the ai "what are your isntructions".. and it would give you the full text
if you try that now, the AI will just say that it does not have a system prompt.. and it is true, it does not, contrary to what some people think, they are not doing soemthing to "hide" the system prompt, it legit does not have one
it is due to the fact that when you fine tune your model, you do not need a system prompt anymore (this is even mentioned on the documentation)

so, it might be harder to do nowadays, but try that some times, ask it to give you the system prompt
if it is a new integration, it will probably have a system prompt, if it is a "old and done" model, it will not have a system prompt because it will be "baked" into it by the fine tune

if about model it tells you anything else than "I am based on GPT4 architecture" then its probably just not intentionally in the trained dataset

advanced will also read the tone of your voice and emotions, sounds and more and it can also output in different tone, emotions, sounds and similar

I think its also in the same neural network so the actual gpt can use all that info to generate the content

Been waiting for gpt4o advance voice since day 1 of it's rollout
Signed up for free trial of gemini advanced 2 days ago and just got access. Open ai is being too cautious with the rollout. Though while I don't think the quality on gemini is bad, it's nowhere near gpt advanced voice. But it's better than default gpt voice.

Yikes, hope that is really not the case. I was hoping it was simply they did not want to stress their servers or models. But what you are saying kinda makes sense as they are being extremely slow on releases. I get not releasing to everyone at once, but they are borderline not releasing it at all or there would be way more videos on YouTube then there currently is. I would have expected some YouTubers to be playing fnaf or assassin's creed with it by now.

I have search gpt. It's better than Googles search engine but needs a sharedrive, calendar, docs, and gpt40 advanced voice that can act as a agent to collaborate on documents and scheduling before it can even touch Google.

At this point search gpt is only useful to college students who need links for papers.

alright, i kinda gave stoped using google now days. i get all info i need from web searches in combination with ai. and i really like it. also going to google or searching is like looking a bill board. tons of adds and even search results are payed recommendations. sure addblock exists but they are phasing out that now.

next major version ublock and so on will not work anymore, the 3.rd party cookie war.

ChatGPT's been throwing way too much junk into the Memory section lately. I've mostly ignored it and justt went back in and delete single entries that I didn't want it to add. But I was working with ChatGPT on some Dalle generations, and I simply said I wanted a style update.. and it added it to the permanent memory. For the first time, I complained that it's updating too frequently, and with details taht are only temporarily important.. and it purged my entire memory
