If you go in your dinodex and to the dino with the skin, you should be able to click on the hanger to see what it looks like with the skin at least - even if locked...

And that's exactly why I said that. Example: I see skin in the shop, but don't know the name of that dino. How to find it in dinodex, to check the skin ? Look each of 300+ dinos untill i find it ? No logic...
